Ps3 launch is already slated for late summer, why not wait another three months?
The potential for this game is incredible and a ten year plan will be hindered and constrained for th benefit of three months of "profit". Just make the launch for ps4 and it will give you mor time to improve the game since its pretty obvious you guys don't have the staff to have this thing in good shap by the summer
Porting unreal3 to unreal4 should be an easy task and you won't have to limit all the features you want to add because a portion of your playerbase is limited by an older system. Unless you seperate your ps3 and ps4 servers and undo the single shard aspect of this game , you will never be able to add things like bullet drop(projectiles) , more content, bigger and more detailed maps, and larger player counts. These are just a few things that will always be limited by the ps3 |

DUST will likely take the same route that many games (aside from titles like Watch Dogs) will take: release their games for both the 3 and 4, and maintain both for some time until it can be assured that the majority of players have moved on to the 4.
CCP is going to take awhile longer to produce a PS4 version anyway, as they will require a good amount of development time to adapt the coding to work with the new architecture and stomp out the bugs.
Final note:
this may be a good time to test the Carbon engine for DUST, or license Unreal 4 to upgrade. We have much more RAM, so it might be easier on the new console.
The general consensus on these forums is that an engine upgrade is a good idea, even if it takes a long time to perform the upgrade. |

Im getting a ps4 but dust should be on both systems..if not then just ps3 I agree with these complaints people bought ps3's for dust why should they get left behind? |

CCP needs to have a large player base because the players buy Aurum, and without a larger player base they can't make enough money to pay their staff and improve the game. Not everyone will buy the PS4 right off the bat because there will only be a few games made for it. I waited over a year to get a PS3 for the same reason. He also didn't mention a lack of money he just stated that not everyone is going to buy a PS4. Typical Gallente Merc always thinking about themselves. |

Yes, it requires Gaikai, but it's better than nothing at all. I don't have a PS3 of my own, so I think I'm just gonna skip it and get a PS4. |

Since Dust is already a game you download it's almost certain that it can be for both. |

No CCP is in the business of making money and if they can make money by using both systems, then they will. Additionally, because you do have money CCP should cater to you? Perhaps you aren't familiar with CCP. They have ALWAYS made a game that reached the broadest technology demographics possible, even when they released the Trinity expansion to upgrade all the graphics in EvE they, for about a year, had two versions of the client.

well put.
some of us only have a little spending cash to play with, and no real way to run out and buy a PS4, since we dont live iwht our parents, or we are at a point in our lives where upgrading isnt the most important thing in our lives.
i have some money to spend from time to time, but for me to rush out and change systems...? please, not happening right out the gate. would rather buy a new computer.
eventually they'll make it inaccessible to PS3, but that is still a year or two down the road ATLEAST. i'm not rich, but i like the game, so let me, and others like me have it for the system we have for a bit. make it look better on the PS4, but dont cut us off just because we cant leap like the spoiled little kids, or the people with the most cash.... i only ask people think about it and realize... if they dont leave it open to all, they'll never make it |

how does it make sense? by putting a stranglehold on a game that is supposed to be a new tactical shooter? if they wanted it to be PS4 only, they'd have left the beta closed untill PS4 release |

You heard it here first. Scare quotes suggest Firestorm Zulu doesn't believe in "profit". Also, they're more familiar with the ten year plan than CCP.
But if CCP only makes "profit" and not ACTUAL PROFIT... then don't CCP fall into the same category as...

Dust will be ps3 AND ps4 at the same time, then as ps3 gets fizzled out they will start supporting ps4 24/7.
Just like bungies 'destiny' will be on both ps3 and ps4, as ps3 goes the way of ps2 vs ps3......they will switch support to ps4. |

Take a look at the market. A lot of players will still hold onto their PS3 consoles and hope it lasts as long as possible before they start considering getting a PS4. That could take well over a year or two. So stop holding your breath. |
