Because you're judging its performance based on pubs. Running into noobs using Standard suits vs a heavy using Standard HMG's.
Range is debatable, but against any B- series assault, it tickles. Unless he's standing still or already ripped.
Militia Heavy >>> Militia Assault
Standard Heavy > Standard Assault
Advanced Heavy < Advanced Assault
Proto Heavy <<<< Proto Assault
And in corp matches, these days, you see more advanced / proto Assault equipment, so heavies are slowly becoming useless.
Strangely enough, for a Proto Heavy to be weaker against a Proto Assault he has to spend WAY more ISK than the Assault guy. Funny logic there, yet people are calling for more nerfs.
Edit: When more people start using Advanced and Proto equipment in pubs, you'll see allot less threads QQ'ing about heavies. |

KB+M amplifies this. I'll have sensitivity on max and it's still extremely slow. Using a KB+M apparently makes moving quicker. Strafing, turning, even making vehicles move quicker.
Obviously a glitch, but who knows when it'll be fixed. |

Why do heavies need a range reduction, exactly?
From the far end of mid field, an assault rifle trading with a heavy will beat the HMG 100% of the time as long as the assault is actually capable of aiming. Even if you train up heavy sharp shooter, the minimum spread isn't effected so you're still missing more and more the farther they are away.

from what i know sharpshooter tightens the spread for heavy weapons.....or at least thats what ppl tell me thus making it more effective at range |

Quite frankly I am soooo sick of nerf, fix heavy complaints. In truth, they need huge buff from advance to proto.
If stuff remain the same for us with no change or for worse we will turn into dust and be worst class out there.

About the HMG, I have level 3 heavy sharpshooter, it's still just marshmallows. I'll see if that changes in a year when I get it to proficiency level 5 At a distance the thing is only good for cover fire, and killing people who are almost dead... who don't know the meaning of cover. |

yea pretty much this. It hits at range, but it doesn't do much dmg.
I'm hoping for a suit buff and actually see a difference in standard suits compared to proto suits, and not just the difference in CPU suit color, literally a couple extra slots and the HUGE difference in price.

Heavies do not need a nerf. They need a BUFF to the WP that they give when you kill one.
Killing a LAV gives +50, while killing a HAV gives +150. Killing an Assault gives +50, while killing a Heavy SHOULD give +80.
They are more expensive and harder to kill. DonGÇÖt nerf the Risk, BUFF their Reward! |

That pretty much sums it up. I'll go through 300 rounds trying to kill a guy at range only for him to turn and put me in low armor with a few well placed headshots from his AR. Then I realize how dumb I was being for firing an HMG at range, reload, and run in close and shred him in CQC. |

So by this logic a scout is suppose to get +20...
You'll have everyone running after to kill a heavy, while nobody wants to kill a scout.
