Oh Look, a decked out Sagaris! It must be worth a fortune! Screw AV weapons, drop an installation on it! >:D
Incoming............... SMASH KABOOM!!!!!
/TANK DRIVER RAGE QUIT.
That's how I see this game evolving when installation deployments are player controlled. There would literally be no point in bringing down a super expensive vehicle, because as soon as the RDV stops, there'll be a large blaster installation hurdling through the atmosphere to smash it to bits, along with its cargo.
So I ask CCP. What ideas have you thought of to stop this sort of thing from happening? Because it'll make OB's VS vehicles are useless tactic. And further discourage players from bringing down vehicles. |

Not necessarily being able to pinpoint exactly where you want it on the map. if it's done like that, it would ruin the strategic placement aspect that could sway battles. They need to be dropped in the same manner as OB`s. But there needs to be a way to tell players, or limit their drops so they aren't used as kinetic bombs.
bring down a 6.1 milion ISK tank.
Have it crushed by a cookie cutter Militia installation that's worth 150k isk. |

SSBBW Amber wrote:I would imagine that as you hover over a map trying to place an installation, if there are objects, player owned or otherwise, then you will not be able to place the installation there. For those that played Star Wars Galaxies, they would understand what I am talking about as far as placing a house near mobs and such. What about predicting the path of a vehicle and dropping it on that vehicle as it drives over the drop off point? That sort of thing still isn't that hard to do since the paths tanks use are pretty predictable. |

Still cracks me up when a blueberry beats me to one, and I shoot him in the back ,he hop out, my turn. Now imagine what would happen if another player decides to drop ANOTHER TURRET ON ANOTHER TURRET?
Allied turret tower.
Unless friendly fire is implemented. |

HowDidThatTaste wrote:It would probably fall over. But that reminds me of the early beta days when you called in a vehicle and 50 of them would pile up on each other. And truthfully they will probably fly in on an rdv anyway giving any moron a chance to get out of the way. They're off map support. They are dropped from the sky like how you see them in Ambush OMS.

Maken Tosch wrote:I don't see this being a problem. Besides, I don't think a reasonable squad leader would be so willing to drop a very expensive installation into a location that may not be suitable for the dropped unit. Remember, these things are more expensive than the tank and are limited in availability. How could they be more expensive then a tank? I'm talking about players dropping CHEAP MILITIA INSTALLATIONS ON PROTO TANKS TO GET AN INSTANT KILL. |
