Looking into speccing grenades and I'm a bit hesitant because of sp cost... any one that's gone beyond lvl 2 can vouch for adv/proto nade effectiveness?

Advanced AV grenade is like tossing a packed variant with better splash radius. Definitely worth your SP investment. At the end of the day, if your play style includes frequent use of grenades as mine does, DOOO IT! |

lol. Level them up. They get much better, especially AV nades. Not that I want you blowing my LAV up . . . so . . . don't. Stay away from nades . . . they're worthless.
Frag = more radius AND more damage = great.
AV = better seeking radius AND more damage = great.
Flux = Meh . . . I dont use them enough to remember exactly what stats get better, but they get better = great. |

I use grenades so infrequently that I removed them from my favorite fit to make more room for other stuff. But from the sounds of it, definitely worthwhile to invest in them. |

As Dust's shameless self proclaimed best nader I'd say definately yes.
The M1 Locus nade at lvl 3 is all you need. I've gotten so many double, tripple and even quadrouple kills with them that I love them more than any other weapon in the game.
You have to be good at timeing and aiming though, learn how to cook them and expect to blow yourself up a hundred times to learn the timeing as best you can.
I've probably blown myself up 500 times, thats how good I am... |
