Is there a place for a freelance mercenary in New Eden? I am not sure I want to be a corporation man, a licker of CEO boots, a groupie, a yes man.

I want to live and die drama free, do my own thing. Sure I would work for a corporation, but I probably wouldn't join one.

Can corporations hire other mercenaries on a freelance, as needed basis? Say a small corporation needs an artillery tank and I have just the thing. WIll there be contracts for mercenaries based on their skills and the equipment they have access to? WIll I be able to work with a corporation for a match, a day or a week without making a permanent commitment? Or will I only be able to take NPC contracts with randoms if I decide to do it my way?

So, will the more independently minded among us be able to get by and have fun? Or will Dust be a strictly must join a corporation kind of deal?

Hmmm. Maybe I will make my own corporation and call it the Blueberry Patch. Thanks for the idea... Wait a minute. I don't want to join a corporation. Not even one I've made myself.

In the future yes. Currently, you can join other corps' battles as long as you're invited, so freelancing already happens.

Yes, but the freelancer receives no compensation for the battles they fight, and the only way to transfer payment to them would be for them to join the corp.

You are already a member of a corporation, ok its is a NPC corporation but still you have a boss he just doesnt care for you and will eventually tax you and steal your money for no benefits to yourself.

Although currently you can be freelance by being invited into a squad by a corp man who then thhe squad leader can join a corp match taking his squad buddies with him no matter what corp there in, but the non corp members get no benefits far as I have heard.

there is no benifit to staying in a npc corp. your better off making your own one man corp. though tbh your are going to struggle if you only run solo. and some ceo's dont want there boots licked.

im with this corp as it belongs to a friend and there are several other dust players in the corp. though in eve i run my own one man corp with 15 members all me.

Making your own corp isn't a bad idea. You can like own your own Bounty Hunter business and tax them a very small fee. If you guys get known than corps will know to go to you and hire your services. Could be like a Bounty Hunter's Union kinda thing. Pay us and we will get you hired for jobs, don't pay us and you won't get our services. (Job Temp Agency for BHs)
