people keep steal ma tanks. so make it so that only squad members can drive vehicle that you spawn. vehicle will still let you in, but only on the turrets |

Second. Other FPS games with vehicles don't make the players pay for each instance of them, so if a new teammate takes it you can just wait for one to respawn. If I have to pay for it each time it blows up, I want to have a say in who gets it blown up. |

Make them skill dependent. If the character doesn't have the skills necessary to fly it, then they shouldn't be allowed in the driver's seat.
That and lock them so that only properly skilled squad mates and corp mates can jump in would be helpful too.
Anyone else with the proper skills want's it, friendly or enemy, they'll have to hack it. |

When tank drivers stop blowing up our supply depots, we'll stop driving off in your vehicles after we've run out of ammo. |

I would ideally want to lock the driver to the vehicle owner(enemy hacks still allowed). This allows the owner to make repairs, get out and shoot a swarm launcher(if desperate), or get to the vehicle after respawn e.g after being shot by a sniper. |

Agreee. But. Yesterday in a pub a guy spawned in 700k worth of ship. I got in as the only passneger. He landed on a tall building to plant a spawn point but got shot and fell off the side (no revive).
I flew his ship out of the middle of the huge firefight zone it was in and put it the safe spawn for him. So sometimes it helps to have some random who can fly it.
That said :
How about a lock for pilot only on spawn. Or when you spawn it you choose from a list the lock level.
1. Pilot only 2. Squad only 3. Level 4 qualified only
then a second list
1. On Death Unlock for all 2. On Death Allow qualified to level 4 to fly |

I would say part of the fun and risk is that your vehicle can be hijacked. If someone comes at me in their buggy and fails to take me out, you better believe I'm hacking your vehicle. I would expect no less from someone who I just failed to take down. It's part of the fun. Don't be reckless if you've got a pricy vehicle. |

A locked option is needed maybe make it optional so a duster can choose in options what level to lock vehicles at i.e only self can enter or exit even passenger seats(doesnt want anyone sharing his tank) only self can drive & squad only to passenger, anyone in squad can enter and drive, self drive & team enter(default option), anyone one team can drive,
but this is only active for a limited time on exiting a vehicle i.e if you call down a HAV then due to heavy fire from AT you hide behind a cliff in redzone then exit and run off into battle on foot the lock will lift after a set time and anyone can enter drivers seat on your team.
all though this would be solved if all vehicles called be recalled back to base from the redline(once called kicks out all occupants and locks vehicle until it is picked up and removed.) |

While honestly I'm cool with having me ships taken from me because someone was faster (i mean if I spawn it in and I know its coming and I still cant get in it first there is a problem with me, not the game) I do feel that unless you have the skills to fly/drive the vehicle that has been spawned, including any mods fitted etc you shouldn't be able to pilot/drive it. It bugs me more that with dropship lvl 3 and some nice fitting all of which I had to skill for and all the SP I have sunk into these skills, a guy, friendly or otherwise can hop into my ship and fly it with no skills at all. |

I am usually not one to respond with just a HTFU but in this matter (which has been discussed many times)......HTFU.
CCP should not change this. This game is not meant to hold your hold and coddle you because you are too bad to correctly deal with these issues in games. Learn from your expensive mistake or you will lose alot of ISK when people do this. Dont use what you cant afford to lose. There should be no lock and no kick function for your vehicle. |

A vehicle locking system has been asked for for months. Many people want it for many different reasons.
My reason for having it, i want my squad mates to be able to use the guns on my HAV not some random blue who doesnt know how to pick out targets or which target is the greater threat and just shoots the MCC.
I carry my squad mates around to hack points they get out to either hack or kill and i want them to be able to have a safe spot in my tank not taken by a blue dot.
This needs to be one of the top priorities for the Dev team to look at and work on. |

This is not hand holding. or a player quality issue. I drop at match start. Call in my DS and the group hangs round to get in so they can be taken to the objective. This will be my squad, perhaps another. But when it lands the first person to stab Circle gets the pilot seat.
That mechanic is not about spawning what I can't afford to lose or any other "you were outwitted" mechanic. Its a button stabbing fest that I can lose based on whose button press is registered first.
The result is that I can only spawn team helping assets if I am away from group and sure it will not get stolen. I am forced to find a work around that hurts my teams initial push.
How would the population react if at spawn if someone was quick to hit circle on you when you were standing still they stole your weapon leaving you without one? And that weapon cost 700k ISK? |

Wrong CCP has given you a 5 second time period to hop into your vehicle when noone else has access to it. If you cant get into the driver seat in that amount of time you were either A) unlucky because of bad drop B) in a bad position. I consider A) to just be part of the game and you have to watch where your vehicle will land to help prevent A....B is just simply your own fault and you should have have your hand held to insure that you play this game well.

Your corp tag fits you well.
Fine. I'll hope for someone to steal your car. Then everyone can say it was your own fault that you weren't in it to keep the thief from taking it. LOL |

Because you would still be allowed to hack it earn WP and, given proper skills or a nearby friend with proper skills, jump in and drive off. Hacking ownership of a friendly vehicle should be allowed but earn no WP.
Now just to be clear, I am in favor of a vacant seat timer. So the driver can get out long enough to repair or hack, and maybe get back to their vehicle if killed while hacking or repairing. But if the driver leaves it for more than say ninety seconds, it becomes available to any team mate with the proper skills. |

People are only complaining about this function because they're spending ISK on a vehicle to drop it in. If the vehicles were free, then nobody would complain...
And they still shouldn't. DUST isn't BF3, and there's no reason it has to be like it in even the slightest way. Pubbies stealing your tank? Deal with it. Drop somewhere else, or be quicker on the draw.
I find it interesting that nobody is bitching about this in regards to player-dropped turrets or player-hacked turrets...

This is also a bad idea. Getting out to repair your own tank? That's bad planning, my slow-witted friend. Don't you have squadmates or gunners to do that for you? |

I personally would like to see the vehicle locked to the driver. The stealing of vehicles costing 200-1.2M ISK is not acceptable. The owner should be able to get out & make repairs, or respawn to get the vehicle back if they are shot during delivery. Hacking by the enemy should reset any locks though. |
