tbh, I think we have slightly better players, but you guys are a much better team. That's not to be demeaning in any way to your guys, honestly it's more of an insult to us and a compliment to you. Sometime in the future after we fix the problems we have with our teamwork, I want a rematch.
Anyway, go beat PFBH plz. |

Just as our players are ever improving along with our tactics and teamwork. I like to think one of the best parts of OSG is our synergy together and our commitment to teamwork. If you looked at the scoreboard our top two players were Logis, one of which never fired his weapon once. Looking forward to fighting again in the future, and hope that head corps like us can remain on friendly terms and keep drama spawned by over zealous players to a minimum |

It wasn't any sort of shot at your corp, not every player is going to be of equal skill level, and I personally feel that overall, UA has better individual talent in the ranks. As you guys proved, individual talent doesn't mean a whole lot in a team-oriented objectives-based match, does it? I didn't at any point say OSG players are bad. I didn't even imply it, and it's certainly not what I was thinking when I made the post, so I hope that you guys don't think that's what I meant. But if that's how you want to interpret it, that's on you.

Indeed. Apologies for any post-match shenanigans on behalf of UA, I logged off to watch the 2nd half of the WVU basketball game directly after (hadn't had my fill of bitter disappointment yet ) and so I didn't catch whatever went on, but I heard it wasn't exactly an exchange of pleasantries. |

We had one guy let loose an unkind word or two, but we did our best to keep a lid on it. You have to respect a good fight. I went back and watched the video, excellent teamwork on OSG's part. GL against Fluffies today.

I find this to be truly interesting. especially the fact that SI has forgone entering the tourney. Considering the issues that have arisen between SI and Imp. So to all of those in the tourney, good luck, and I hope the prizes are worth it.
But I guess this is just another wonderful example for the world of how monstrously out of control the ego can get.
Now this is not to say that you shouldn't get a slap on the back for all of the work. You should. It is quite a feat. THe only question I ask is this; why did you feel the need to throw a tourney? Was it an act in mental ************? A PR campaign of sorts?
I much rather concentrate on what is going to really matter in this game, Faction warfare and nullsec acquisitions.
I do believe that it will be these instances that I speak of that will determine standing in New Eden, not whipping out the E-pen an stroking it for the public forums. This reminds me as to the why SOME people in the messenger community throw races versus the reasons we have major events. ONE IS PURELY FOR EGO, the other is a way to gather the community at an event and share the love.

So IMP is going Ego crazy in a tournament they are not even participating in? I don't get your complaints, you say people should do things for the community but when IMP do its a bad thing and only about the Ego?
"I much rather concentrate on what is going to really matter in this game, Faction warfare and nullsec acquisitions. "
and hows that working out for you? lol. This game doesn't have much to offer(especially if you been playing for awhile like most of the corps in this tournament) so the only thing to play for is somthing like this tournament.
Anyways GG to Zion, game yesterday was really good, why i came to to this thread:) |

The reason for throwing the tourney was to bring attention to Dust especially from the Eve side of things and promote the game and to create some excitement and focus within the Dust community.
http://community.eveonline.com/news/newsFromEve.asp?newsTitle=dust-514-eve-bombardment-tournament-round-2-this-weekend
Right now we are in a holding pattern WAITING for Faction Warfare to be improved and Nullsec to be established. A lot of people are having build fatigue and looking for something to do. If the tourney helps create drive for people playing the game then there you go.
I guess the real question is WHY NOT arrange a tournament. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what the community can do by working together. If certain organizations want to remain outside of participating in the community that's fine. Multiple people have approached me wanting to do their own events once this tournament has concluded and that's awesome. I've purchased the domain NewEdenSports.com and will be looking to have the community come together so that more events like this will be possible.
The community has sponsored over $100 worth of prizes for the event and that doesn't event touch on what CCP has sponsored as well.
Eve has really turned some eyes onto this game because of the tourney and I have something special planed for this weekend to really tie things together with the Tourney and the OB Events. As it stands the total betting pools for the tournament has surpassed 3 Billion ISK. The ISK grand prize for the Closed Beta Tournament run by CCP was 250 Million ISK.
You can choose to sit on the sidelines and wait for life to happen or you can get off the bench, get in the thick of it, and do everything in your power to improve the situation and create excitement where it may be lacking. I 'm happy that over 2,000 Mercs across over a dozen corporations have decided to participate in this tournament. They have put in tons of time to get their teams together, work on scheduling matches, and go the extra mile by placing videos out there to show people competitive play in Dust. I'm just glad that they have allowed me to help things along, because it's the Mercs on they ground and the community that is responsible for the true success of this event not me. |

First off, I would like to thank Kain/Kane Spero for getting this tourney going
a lot of good corps sat this tourney out (IMP, IE, KEQ, SI, and RND just to name a few) hopefully in future tournaments we can get more participation
And lets face it this player driven event was put together better then CCP's tournament

I asked for the IMP , IE , and Swarm guys to sit this one out since I'm making decisions on the tourney and arbitrating disputes.
Plus, I'm guessing some corps wouldn't have fought if they knew they might have to face Imperfects in a non-consensual engagement.
On a side note I've posted new time for matches that would extend the time for the next set of matches and put the finals to their own weekend. |

Oh Im sure you meant it as a compliment. Just don't let yourself think that this is as good as our individual players are going to get, we are ever improving as well, and look forward to more battles in the future. You guys put up one hell of a fight and for that you have our respect.
As for lid flipping, I know most of your corp isn't like that so I understand. I also understand 2AM lid flipping, I would have probably done the same in your position haha. No worries. |

Though I appreciate the time it took to set a tourney up it is not in my mind a better tournament.
My main gripe in this tourney is the scheduling. Two games were set on a Sunday US time which makes it Monday morning for those halfway across the world.
Hopefully any future tournaments you would put into consideration scheduling games Friday and Saturday night us time or allowing those participating to schedule their own games on a date and time that's optimal for both corporations. Merely give them a deadline instead of forcing a particular date and time |

Teams were giving an open schedule and a deadline and it resulted in the initial mess that was round one. Teams have been free to schedule matches before the designated times as well. I will agree with you that scheduling has been the most difficult part.
Many time the issue isn't "Do you have 8 people on who can fight?". The issue is whether the teams field the right eight people given their opponent. I've found that the more open times end up leading to a lot of metagaming as well with teams working towards times that are best for their troops but worse for their opponent. It can be a very difficult balance.
If terms of addressing issues with people's times across the world, I think Southern Legion can attest to them being accommodated and being worked with in regards to their time zone issues. There is never a perfect solution with a game that is everywhere like Dust, but we can always strive to do the best that we can.
I'm looking forward to getting New Eden Sports set up so that scheduling can benefit from having a system that has a little more automation put into the process. |

If CCP had it available as a playback viewpoint, rather than a live stream, you couldn't exploit it directly in the battle. There are other ways to make it less exploitable in-game if live, but obviously switching to a 3rd-party chat program would circumvent those additions. |
