I noticed how sometimes live events will be missed in DUST due to the fact that there is no clear way for us to look if there are live events available without having to go through the forums looking for that one event that got missed, and if they get posted by players in the general discussion board, they could wind up being ignored or buried by all the "Imperfect" and "OP!!!11 wah!" noise. So I kinda wanted to have a dedicated section to live events, but that is also configured/ruled to be treated as an "in-character" (IC) forum.
EVE has this, and I am sure there may be people in this game that would like to take the opportunity to flesh out their characters by giving them a New Eden perspective to the events that take place. This would probably help in making the lore of New Eden be more user-engaging and thus would help increase the influence (though a more passive influence) that DUST has on EVE and vice verse.
tl;dr
- make an RP/IC forum for DUST characters
- make it so that it may help spotlight live events (from an-incharacter perspective)
- help players into the lore of New Eden engage in the creation of more lore |

I like the idea of an "IC" RP forum. If only for the Minmatar/Amarrs to shout death threats at each other.
It would also be a good place for things like Ironwolf's Uprising briefings. I like them, but I feel like they'd be a hell of a lot more relevant in a subforum dedicated to the story and IC goings-on. |

I agree, but not only that, even CCP staff could help spotlight events from an in-character perspective or even host RP sessions in here when a merc is not required to be looking down the sights of a weapon to kill someone else. But I guess that woud just be an optional benefit of having said forums section.
BTW, I edited the OP. After reading what I first posted, I felt like I didn't show any interest in what I was requesting. I attempted to make the argument for making a forums dedicated for RP. DUST isn't really a game with a target market of RPers, but I am certain that there will be some at the very least. |

Kitten, just give us posting rights to the summit on the EVE forums. I was checking out the Caldari and Gallante yelling at each other there earlier, we're down there helping out, having poorly constructed Caldari titan fall on us, I want to join in.

I already asked them if it was possible, but CCP said that they couldn't because they use different log in systems to access their respective forums... and their forums code is custom and old...
We really need a unified community system (both, forum, news website and blogs) to make New Eden work like a common environment. But for now, I'll just settle for this RP forum.
If anything, we can use "messengers" to have our messages sent over to the capsuleer community. |
