Alright, from the LR man.
Get the viziam and don't worry about damage mods, viziam is alpha,
You want atleast the advanced assault suit, so you have about 300 armor and then complex shield extenders giving about 300~ shield.
The reason for the armor buffer is more for when going against another LR user, despite what people think, armor does take longer to burn through.
A nanohive is a requirement. The point of the viziam is to build max heat first, then it will instantly alpha heavys ect.
Elm-7 works as well, but viziam is better, there's about a 3-400 damage alpha difference.
Submachine gun is the best side arm.
Stay further back, remember you are there for area denial, not assault. |

Dude, how many other people go 52-1 with an LR.
When you touch him with your laser, he should be dead. 0 wait.
I'd only use damage mods if you didn't plan on heating up the LR before hitting your target.
But by doing so your losing a lot of ehp. For no reason. |

The extenders are there for the occasions when somebody DOES get the drop on you with a Gek or Duvolle and injures you. Scrambler for close AND midrange fights, smg is too short range to cover all the distance below the LR minimum range, I reccomend assault scrambler at least.
Nanohive is requirement.
Then it's practice heating up the beam before aiming it directly on a target. Do it right and peoples shields should vanish instantly, leaving them little time to run for cover whilst you work on the harder armour. Don't bother with damage mods or higher level weapons for pub matches, the starndard LR is damaging enough and the only advantages the Elm 7 gives is lower heat build up, whilst being 3 times more expensive. Viziam is even worse, being more than 10 times the price, though it alteast has a slight damage increase.
Work on sharpshooter and ammo cap, get up high, call out targets and burn AR users from well outside their range, destroying their shields before they even realise they're under attack. Laser operation is possibly bugged, leave it alone for now.
Have fun.
PS; I run an almost entirely militia build that costs me 11k isk and I destroy people with this setup. My KDR has gone from 2.64 to 3.44 in a week. It works.
Def not slight damage increase between elm and viziam. Well damage, but alpha is a huge difference and worth the price.
For testing test elm vs shield tank then viziam vs shield tank. You will be in aww at the peak heat point alpha difference.
