I havent played much EVE. But I believe that every kill gets you a kill mail which shows you the equipment lost on the target and gives you a value of what ISK they lost.
To me, this is hugely vital in fostering a sense of gratification in a game where things arent always even. You wont always know if the fight you just had was lopsided or not when it comes to ISK spent.
Now every kill obviously can't send a mail, that would be ridiculous. But every game could.
I think at the end of every game each player should get a mail showing how much ISK they lost in equipment that got destroyed, and how much ISK they had a hand in destroying. This would include anything they got an assist on.
It would be very, very gratifying to see the value in that tank you blew up, or that supped up heavy with tons of shield extenders. This game needs to move away from k/d and focus on what matters in the long run. If you pour 10x as much ISK into a fight and win, congrats, but was it worth it?
War points are nice, but again, if I spend 10 million isk to get 10 more warpoints than someone who spent 10k, am I really good at this game?
A true measure of skill would be how much ISK did you cost your opponents versus how much ISK you spent. A game kill mail showing that would be awesome. Or a leaderboard. |

AFAIK there is allready something being worked on by CCP regarding kill/loss mails.
Best to just sit tight and wait for the dev blog to pop up with it on. Were still in beta after all |

I've already requested this, but I'll do it again!
I thin we should have a column after every match that says how much loss of ISK we caused.
Right now the only way I know that I caused someone to lose a ton of ISK is hate mail. And that's just not accurate enough. |

I agree this would be very very good having battle killmails, Eve is full of people discussing there latest kill or loss and the killmails help people share those to the point some sites (mittani.com) have Loss of the Day sections where they find impressive killmails and ifnd the story behind them.
Having a similar feature in Dust would be brilliant and would really help the community as a whole, and with sites like battleclinic with adaption to fit dust killmails, it becomes real easy for corporations to view the results of battles and display within the corp to the lowly corp man can see how good his corp is doing rather then just a simple k/d ratio leaderboard.
if eve has shown anything kill/death ratios mean nothing if your k/d was 100 - 10 but your cost was 10 million to 500 million.
Will show which parties only get high ratios because they pour so much isk into killing the cheap fit noobies |

As long as its in the pipeline, thats cool. Just, as someone who comes from Halo and some CoD, the first thing I think of when I blow up a tank is "oh man, I wish I knew how much that poor bastard spent on that thing!"
I guess as I get better Ill have a better grasp of what the values of stuff are, but even then it would be relatively hard to know for sure.
ISK lost would be relatively easy to calculate, wouldnt it? At the very least they should add that to the results so we can tell if we made a profit or if we threw away too many well fitted suits to be worth it. |
