Beld, I think you've pursued this as far as it is going to go. When I called Venom out, and challenged SoTaPop, it was at a point where I thought a productive conversation could be had, It's obviously gone far, far beyond that point, which is why I've stayed out of this thread.
SoTa and his friends aren't actually interested in clearing the air or resolving the issue. They're interested in winning an argument. In doing so, they're going to muddy the issue and conflate ideas to the point where there's pages and pages of vomit all over the forums. At Reddit, it's what we call a circle jerk, and it's in full effect here today.
I notice that no one is posting on SoTa's behalf except for his corpmates. They're running around as a pack, trying to win the argument by spinning anything that's said. As long as you engage with them, you're only helping to provide them with ammo to try to justify their position, which they change as it's convenient. Then they'll upvote each other and backslap and cheer.
The point is that they are a group that obviously doesn't have anyone willing to challenge their opinions from within, so it's unlikely that you or anyone will be able to challenge their opinions from without. They say there are no personality barriers in their corp, without realizing that giving everyone a license to asshattery is a personality barrier by itself, since anyone with half a mind for reasonable discourse would stay far away from that kind of crap.
The good news is, this is New Eden, and corps like theirs show up all the time. They might dominate the forums for a while, and they might even dominate the leaderboards, but they have nothing else that makes them cohere. Sooner or later, they'll implode, just like every other group that had their same approach.
And when the fail cascade begins, and the rats start to flee the sinking ship, they'll want to come to a corp like Subdreddit or Southern Legion that will be dominating the game with HBC or CFC. All you need to do is remember names.
Because this is New Eden. Reputation and personality matter. |

And Beld, this is a real apology to you. I know I took this conversation out of line and probably made you feel very insulted and defensive in Black Jackals thread. I did it with a point in mind and I see now to you the point was lost behind my bad intentions. If I had a better way with words I admit I probably wouldn't of needed to do go there just to prove a point. So even if you do not accept my apology I hope you understand I have no ill will towards you and am sorry our views clashed as hard as it did.
That goes for you too Mallinche from earlier. I know it's the internet and things get weird and lost in translation. I don't advocate people being demeaning AT ALL.
Thanks for that. I agree that things get lost in translation, particularly when egos take over. I hope you can respect that my goal hasn't been to attack you personally. You're probably an alright dude.
