More of an enquiry but when we're able to buy and trade with EVE, will Dust players be able to buy and use items like Plex and tokens for AUR from EVE players with isk?
The problem I could see with it happening is that it deprives the PSN store of any sales. However, if Dust were to track the usages of such items and give Sony a share as though the AUR were bought off them, maybe it would work out. CCP continues to have it's flow of Plex sales and Dust players have the option to buy their AUR with ingame currency (Even if it's ridiculously expensive for them). |

I assume AUR will be tradable in the final release. I don't see any logical reason why it wouldn't be. Regardless of who actually purchased the AUR, it HAS been purchased with IRL money. It doesn't really matter who buys the in-game assets with it.
Even if AUR itself isn't tradable, CCP have promised us many times that all the AUR items will be. |

Well my point is that if a Dust player bought their AUR off the open market with isk, it would mean a lost sale for the PSN store.
Granted, A plex is nearly 600,000,000 isk, so it's going to take a very successful player to do that but in Sony's eyes it may be a major problem. |

I'm not sure about the PSN considering that AUR is technically not their main source of revenue. I'm pretty sure they make a lot of money from other things like the PSHome, PS+ subscriptions, video games, console sales, etc. I doubt AUR sales makes any impact on the part of their portfolio.
That said, CCP is the one that makes the most money from AUR purchases, PLEX sales and Eve subscriptions alone.
===Looking into the future: Assuming Dust/Eve market expands to where we expect it to be=== ===Also assuming mercs can buy and sell AUR tokens like Eve players do now in the future===
Overall, it depends more on the dynamics of the free-market system. PLEX and AUR tokens are a good example of that. When the supply of AUR tokens in the market drops, the price of that commodity rises in accordance with higher demand due to players needing the AUR tokens to purchase their expendable dropsuits and tanks as wars become more hectic in low-sec faction warfare. If the ISK price of AUR tokens rises high enough, Dust mercs might find it cheaper to buy the AUR directly from the PSN merc packs since you can get at least 40,000 AUR for $20 USD compared to 2,500 AUR at $15 from CCP's Eve Account management site. Those AUR tokens then either get used up for AUR gear for mercs or get sold in the open market for ISK to other players who need them.
Overall, this might actually benefit the PSN in the long run as opposed to CCP. But there is another thing to consider.
Not every merc has an Eve account or a PC and not every capsuleer has a Dust account or a PS3. Therefore, you will find plenty of players being forced to use the in-game shops of the game they can only access. Dust mercs being dependent on the PSN store (controlled by Sony) and Eve players being dependent on the Eve account management site (controlled by CCP).
In either case, both CCP and Sony stand to benefit in the long run money wise. |

I doubt you will be able to buy and sell AUR directly but you will be able to buy and sell items that are bought with aur from player A and then put on the market for isk for player B to buy. this seems the best way to do it |

I'm certain all AUR that reaches players hands will be purchased with IRL money. The idea is that there will always be someone out there willing to purchase AUR and trade/sell either the AUR itself, or the items you purchase with AUR for ISK. No one needs to be able to buy AUR straight from CCP with ISK, and being able to do so would needlessly hurt CCP's bottom line. |

Which is the whole point of having anything AUR related purchased strictly with CASH from the beginning before it hits the open market. Of course, for maximum effect, those items should be expendable like UVT, AUR tokens, and PLEX. |
