Today the new matchmaking seems to be exposing me to a lot of afk sp and isk farmers.
Normally I see 0-2 people afk farming in a match with a pretty even distribution.
I have about 3 million SP and earned all of it by actually playing the game. I think now that I am being matched against other people around my SP threshold (if that is indeed how they are making matches today) I am seeing a lot more people sitting in the MCC (mostly NPC corp players).
It makes sense that people with more SP will be the worst offenders of afk farming matches. My last match had four people chilling in the MCC for the whole match.
Until they do something about people taking advantage of the mechanic I am going to start posting names and track the Corporations that are the worst offenders of taking advantage of the system while running pub matches.
I have video of each incident if anyone wants to contest if it happened or not, just ask and I'll upload it. I only will add someone to the list if they spawn in at the beginning of the match, and stay in the MCC for the whole match. I won't add people who join late ect.
I know a lot of you don't care but It really bothers me and hopefully some Corporations will take a stand against their members doing this.
I'm not sure if this post breaks the forum rules or not it kind of borderlines on some of them, so if It's locked I'll drop the issue. |

Not necessarily afk farmers. Could just have had someone knock at the door at an in opportune moment. If you see them doing it all the time then by all means name and shame.
Eg, just started a match the other day when I get a knock at the doorl. Do I Loose my dropship, isk spent and wp's earned so far by quitting the match? Or do I pull an emergency park at nearest safe point, which happened to be on a spire, and wasn't safe atall, was watching out the corner of my eye whilst chatting with my mate as people where taking pot shots at me. In the end I couldn't help myself and parked it behind base instead :-)
My point tho, unless you see people doing it all the time, I don't think it's right to name and shame. It just turns into a witch hunt.

How do people even afk sp points and isk? Whenever I join game late or do poorly, I get very very poor sp/isk results. It seems afking earns you next to nothing.. |

Right I don't consider this a personal attack, I am trying to bring exposure to a mechanic that rewards people for not playing the game while hurting those of us who do. Hopefully others will see it the same way. 
Also if you look at the previous threads on the issue a skirmish match can pay about 5k SP, and ~150-200k ISK for not even showing up clearly a problem.
Right now there is no incentive not to do it, you can just click x, make 5k SP and get 200k isk. I'm hoping this will make people take a second to think if it's worth the risk of getting caught and making their corporation look worse to a lot of the community.
Yes before everyone says bah everyone does it and nobody cares, a lot of people care about this just look at the previous threads. |

Sadly like in any game that requires a lvl/skill progression, your always going to find players who exploit it.
Like in Battlefield you would have a squad sitting way off in the corner of the map with a Humvee. One guy dmg it, and the others would heal it. (Just one example)
Point is, and as sad as it is, your always going to get "Lazy" people who think they can beat the system.
What sucks is when they are on your team, your at a disadvantage. cause now instead of 12 vs 12, it's 12 vs 8 or 10
I don't understand it myself. Sitting back at the base, doing nothing, you can't earn a whole lot of SP/ISK by doing nothing.
That way would take forever.
Why not play the game, and have fun. That is what your suppose to do.
Too bad there wasn't a way to kick those players. Though I thought if you went afk for so long you'd be kicked from the match. Best thing to suggest IMO is if you see it happen, take note of the players name. If you see that same player doing it a second/third time, I'd just simply report it to CCP.
Naming people on here does nothing but create conflict. Breaking rules or not.
CCP is the ones who can deal with it.
I remember in the battlefield incident I believe people accounts were banned/reset for being caught exploiting.
If there is a lazy way to do something, or cheat/exploit people always find a way
Like I said. Best thing to do. Take note of it, and if it really bothers you, message CCP through their support or whatever they have in place and inform them about it.
Really that is all you can do. |

until you hit your weekly cap, a huge part of the skillpoint calculation is just time spent in game.
which lines up perfectly with you getting poor rewards when you join late |
