Dude. Your answer to hate-spewing is to suggest he 'tone it down a notch?' How about confronting your corp-mate for being a douche? How about suggesting to your directors that maybe letting him have that corp tag under his name might not be best for the group?
Or maybe it's ok for people in your corp to pull this ****, as long as they do it on your private forums? |

If he wants to act out in public he can - he'll get the ban and then he'll be gone. Forum rules are here for a reason. Imps don't care if you want to be a total ass as long as you can back up what you're saying. If you can't you're gone. Did you even read his thread or did you just see naughty lines and pissed yourself? Most of the comments said here about this being too much or not funny is true - but you're pushing this to be much more then what it is while ignoring every statement he made that this isn't a personal insult and just for fun. I don't see how anything he's saying is amusing. Suggesting that this crap is racist (in some ways moreso because he thinks it's funny) doesn't make me 'emotionally fragile.' It makes me an adult who's willing to call someone out when their behavior is anti-social, backwards, and wrong.
I happent o believe that gaming should be an inclusive hobby. I would like to play this game with my girlfriend, or other friends. I'd like to be able to share something with real people and not have to be embarrassed about it.
You, your friend, and your corp, are an embarrassment to the community at this point. |

See, the problem with your thinking is that you believe that you have a right to bad behavior, and others who point out that your behavior is bad are somehow fragile or butthurt or overly sensitive. The reality is actually the opposite. Anyone over the age of 18 who has ever had to hold a job or interact with real humans knows better. The only reason you can defend your position is because you're anonymous, like your pal. If you had to actually suffer repercussions for your actions, you'd think twice.
The fact is that this community isn't and shouldn't be an old boys club catering to your sensibilities. If you want to form a merry band of racist morons and run around playing internet space marines, fine. But the notion that other people should have to put up with that crap in a public forum isn't.
This sort of thing is bad for the community, it's bad for CCP, and it's bad for the game. |
