I don't know how other corps find squads but in ours I guess you just type into the corp chat channel that you're available for play. Now I figured that I would just be able to highlight their name (within the chat box) and hit "send squad invite" but that didn't seem to be the case. I then figured that I could just find their name in the corp list and invite from there....that didn't work either. Then I realized that I had to go to the squad tab and type their name in (some were too hard to remember in the first place) and then you have to click on a big box, and then click on their name (even though you already typed it in) and then hit OK. That is so ridiculously over complicated for such a simple yet and important feature. And I cannot help to think that this game as of right now reminds me of SOCOM:CONFRONTATION. Now I'm sure there's at least ONE person here who remembers Slant Six and their game S:C. The game released legitimately unfinished, nothing worked, none of the menus were easy to navigate through, it was just an absolute disaster (Slant Six ended up just giving up on the game and I don't even think SOCOM games are ever going to come out again.)
The warning I'm giving to CCP is to not be a Slant Six with Confrontation. Too many times I had seen my brother battling on the forums with 1000+ upvote posts for them to completely ignore what the community wanted. LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY AND THE FORUMS. We play this game, not you. In the end, you are the slaves to us. If someone on these forums writes up a great post with ideas and everyone upvotes it and agrees that they love, DO IT. Do not think that you can make this game on your own, do not be cocky. I wish this game the best of luck and I am still having fun on it regardless, but the frustration of sending a squad invite made me recall repressed memories of a game that had potential but plummeted to its doom.
So for one thing to put on your to-do list, can you just make it sending a squad invite a one-touch-button procces? Example: Highlight their name in the corp channel, hit TRIANGLE, the invite is sent.
EDIT: While I'm at it, I might as well just say that the squad leader setting objectives is super tedious as well. The amount of times I tried to hit "capture C" and it said "no valid target" made it seem like a waste to even try. It's like you need a clear line of sight, even though most of the time the objectives are very far away. I would rather have a drop down menu that lists "capture, defend, attack" and then if you click capture, it lists everything captureable in order of importance (points you don't have, CRU's, supply depots, etc). That way I don't have to sit around with my cross hair turned into a shield, hoping no one comes at me, trying to legitimately SNIPE the point with the cross hair.
OR, since there's no need for 4 different commands (you really only need to 2 (attack/cap) and then defend). Why not just make it so if I hold a button with my crosshair on a structure it will either say attack or defend depending on who owns the structure. There's NO NEED for there to be "attack" AND "capture" all it does is complicate things. Just do attack/defend with a quick button. Sigh.
