Since LAVs were nerfed, are they even worth putting skill points into?
I never tried them before the nerf but I remember them being a lot more potent on the battlefield.
As they are now though, all models have such a low PG and CPU that building one that can actually survive long enough seems impossible.
In the end, they just don't seem worth the ISK or skill points when the free LAV still transports the team well enough without reducing your ISK return. |

My experience has been the same: they're too weak, too SP/ISK expensive and not worth it. The free starter LAV gets people around, then they ditch it. |

I personally roll with the starter lav and just run people over with it, im not gonna invest any sp into lav's though. |

If you use them right, an LAV with a blaster is extremely deadly
However, it's kindof broken now, since you need to get into AV grenade range and slow down to get a kill. Even with the speed of the LAV, they can't accelerate quickly enough to get out of the area before getting hit by another grenade or 2. |

The same WP earnings being discussed about Dropships need to apply to LAVs but this would get rid of free LAVs. Then some one who specced into them becomes all the more worth while. Win-Win-Win. |

the biggest problem with LAVs is the controls, anyone with a functioning brain have stated that the controls are garbage.
i want to say that they are on par with the vehicle sections in the miserable failure of a series mass effect. |

I'd wait to see if any of the issues are fixed. You're just too exposed in the LAV, both the driver and gunner (who drives a convertible on the battlefield?) Add the poor handling and small maps and it does not make much sense. I have a 130K saga that sees some action but more often than not, I just drop a baloch and dump it at objectives.

I have skills in LAV and I have a friend who functions as my gunner. Big issue with LAVs are exposure, low HPs, ease with which AV can hit them (Hard to use speed as an advantage when AV grenade and swarm launchers almost never miss), short range of small turrets, really just small turret balance all together, and of course free LAVs which people drive like they didnt pay for them, because they didnt. If your looking to have some fun sure invest in them, if your looking for stats go elsewhere you wont find them in LAVs. |

Just jumping in to say no one I know will be speccing into LAV's until the controls are fixed, not even my hardcore Chauffeur friends who have been driving me around since... forever.
We'll be driving along, hit a small bump that we didn't even know was there, FISHTAIL FOREVERRRRRRR. |
