Ok so i have one redline fix idea but i'm sure theres better ones, So my idea is to not allow any snipers into the redzone. and there should be a like a green zone for ur own team so u know that ur entering what the enemy see as a red zone. So if u enter ur teams green zone u cant use a sniper rifle. I think thats fair because i lose so many matches because my team is so far back trying to snipe that we lose. It makes matches boring. |

I'll be honest, I've seen plenty of comments on here regarding 'redzoning making match boring' etc...but frankly I don't get it.
If I'm getting bored with one tactic I switch it up with something else. This game gives us the opportunity to explore a host of tactical options and play styles. Sure there's something to be said for specialization, and especially new players like myself may feel that is necessary to be competative, but it's up to us as the player community to come up with the competative strategies to win these battles. That's what's made EVE so interesting over the years. It takes time and experience to come up with counterstratigies and I'm sure CCP will give use plenty of time to find those solutions, chuckling to themselves the whole time!
tl;dr - Bored? Be more flexible and expland playstyle |

Easy fix remove it. It's simply not needed the maps are huge and removeing the redline allows attacks and defenders intresting tackets |

I've had no problem killing snipers that are in their own redzone. If they can shoot out, I can shoot in.
If you're pinning their team at their redline with assault or short range, sit tight in cover and wait for them to come to you. |

I can see your point regarding your own team. I often find myself more frustrated with my own team than the enemy in pubs.
I'm a sniper myself, but I think I try for a more active strategy protecting teammates and objectives as much possible rather than just sitting back waiting for the occasional merc mindlessly forgetting the concept of cover...
My honest opinion on sniping is that it can be a pretty active and tactical role...but only when communication is flowing...which is practically unheard of in pubs |

From my experience in the past as a sniper, I think this is a bad idea.
Not because the red zone protects snipers, but because most of the good places to snipe from are in the red zone. |

I remember when there was no redline and it sucked. Multiple times we got pushed back to our MCC and could not even drop in without instant death because the point was surrounded. Even an everyone wait before we drop all at once didn't take out but one or two who were then rezzed.
I say keep the redline. If folks want to hide behind it, they can be killed too, just not with a shotty. |

No, most of the good places to snipe are not in the red zone(the red zone being your spawn area - it's far smaller than it was last build). Several are just outside the red zone or near the outer edges of the map - many are in the middle of the map but are partially exposed and not usable if your team doesn't have control of the immediate area. |

There are 3 ways to deal with redlining that i can think of atm.
1. Make it so people can't kill from there.
2. Make skirmish a pure objective based match. No clones! i think part of the reason some people redline is because they know if they kill enough they can win.
3. if you stay in the redline too long you get teleported out of it.
Removing the redline is a no no. Granted if your team gets pushed back THAT far, you're most likely going to lose anyway, it's STILL something that should be there if only to give you a chance for a comeback, no matter how small. |

I just thought this one up. I think it would help with anyone hiding behind the red line(tanks included) as well as those hiding behind the base to get SP and not participating. It might even get blue dots out of the spawn area to try to take objectives if they become red lined.
4. Clone transmission scrambler - the mcc can scramble enemy clone transmissions of soldiers that remain stationary beyond a certain range(ie. the red line) after a certain amount of time. Initially causing HUD scrambling then activating the clone suicide protocol.
For example, after 60 seconds of inactivity(in this case remaining within 1m of an initial point) the HUD scrambling starts(initially removing the overlay and later adding artifacts) and the player must move at least 5m within 10 seconds or have the clone suicide protocol activated. The timer would reset to 30 seconds after the first occurrence during that life. Switching at a supply depot would have no effect. |

Some other games give alternate spawns for when you get pushed back to your original spawn. Switch the spawn for the team being pushed back to the opposite side of the map or some random corner of the map. Do this and the redline can be removed.
Now, noone can hide behind the redline and redliners will have to fall back to the letters.
This would make for more fun matches since it keeps every player in battle until the end. |
