I use my TV for nearly everything, not just gaming. It is what I watch movies on, watch cable TV, do Netflix/Amazon instant watch, play games, etc. It is the center of my home theater setup along with my PS3 and Onkyo receiver. Gaming is just but one thing I use it for, I assume most console gamers are in the same boat.

People who buy a TV/monitor just for gaming are usually the PC crowd who like to spend thousands every year just to have the best of the best. But I am a console gamer 4 life, my aging Samsung 32" 1080i/720p LCD has provided me well over the years and I don't see replacing it anytime soon unless it decides to die on me.

Nowadays a LCD screen is dirt cheap compared to what I paid for mine back in 2007. If I spent the same now as I did back then, I would have about five high quality name-brand 32" LED LCD's @ 1080p.

I mean think about it, we only have two ear eardrums, how we perceive the distance and location of sounds is determined by multiple factors, but in the end, it all ends up at one spot per ear. I have no problem using my Sennheiser HD555 headphones to localize sounds behind, next to, and in front of me in Dust and every other game. And each ear has only one tweeter and one mid-range/woofer.

You can score a decent 24" LCD 1080p monitor on Amazon for about $160. And you can get a 32" 1080p HDTV elsewhere for about $250-$350.

I have to share my main Tv with my family therefore if I want to get any real gaming done I have to do it on second Tv I do not have the cash for 2 good tvs so I use dinosaur

I'm having issues where i get this 'dusty'(sic) grainy bar pattern during MQ/warbarge/battlefield but it's fine in the menus. Did you have this problem too?

The only thing I regret is not having a closer bathroom, but I'm a good multitasker and just go while I'm playing to avoid the walk.

My monitors don't have an HDMI input, and my video card only has 2 DVI outs. So, I output to my middle and right in DVI, and have an HDMI out that goes to an HDMI switch. My PS3 also outputs to the HDMI switch. The switch outputs in HDMI to an HDMI -> DVI converter, which then goes to the monitor. TL;DR Push one button on my desk and my 3 monitor PC turns into a dual monitor PC + a playstation
