LOL, I honestly thought it was going to be something special, and was looking forward to asking you questions about your HT setup. But I had a nice chuckle when I saw the pic.
Your might be the second or third person I've seen on these forums (or most of the net ) that still uses a CRT TV By today's standards, that like using floppy disks for storage still!
I can't even fathom using my PS3 with a 480i 4:3 TV, just having all the text scrunched would drive me insane! I've had my HDTV since early 2007 and I will never go back to CRT. |

I have a PS monitor so my laptop and PS3 are both connected to it at my desk. I just use my TV remote to switch between the two HDMI connections when I am playing both EvE and DUST. |

Easy access to snacks and drinks. Table for your laptop.
Good acostics because of carpetless kitchen.

I have my screen on my kotatsu (japanese table with heater underneath and a blanket covering the whole thing, the hard surface is put on top).
Very dangerous, it's so easy to fall asleep when your lower part is warm and cozy. |

Surround sound headphones... the biggest scam of the decade
Seriously, it is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_recording
As long as the recoding is halfway decent, the need for more than one speaker per ear is unnecessary (not including tweeter/mid-range and/or woofer setup)... I mean think about it, we only have two ear eardrums, how we perceive the distance and location of sounds is determined by multiple factors, but in the end, it all ends up at one spot per ear.
I have no problem using my Sennheiser HD555 headphones to localize sounds behind, next to, and in front of me in Dust and every other game. And each ear has only one tweeter and one mid-range/woofer.

I use my TV for nearly everything, not just gaming. It is what I watch movies on, watch cable TV, do Netflix/Amazon instant watch, play games, etc. It is the center of my home theater setup along with my PS3 and Onkyo receiver. Gaming is just but one thing I use it for, I assume most console gamers are in the same boat.
People who buy a TV/monitor just for gaming are usually the PC crowd who like to spend thousands every year just to have the best of the best. But I am a console gamer 4 life, my aging Samsung 32" 1080i/720p multi-use LCD has provided me well over the years and I don't see replacing it anytime soon unless it decides to die on me.
Nowadays a LCD screen is dirt cheap compared to what I paid for mine back in 2007. If I spent the same now as I did back then, I would have about five high quality name-brand 32" LED LCD's @ 1080p.
You can score a decent 24" LCD 1080p monitor on Amazon for about $160. And you can get a 32" 1080p HDTV elsewhere for about $250-$350. |

Using my desktop setup with just ps3 switched in there. Need to be able to look tight at them pixels ;) Should try with the projector some day, but I'm biased to think I can't match wall to mouse as well as monitor to it. |

It's spooky. You have almost the exact same setup as mine. The only thing I regret is not having a closer bathroom, but I'm a good multitasker and just go while I'm playing to avoid the walk.
