Mine would have to be chrono trigger and chrono cross.
Old skool = nothing past ff10 I completely agree 99% of RPG's after FF10 sucks *Besides Tales of series* But this is the proper place for this topic. |

And Legend of Dragoon is +10. |

Also just the whole plot and world was fantasic. I loved how there weren't random battle areas, you fought where you got into a random encounter, no random empty field BS. I think I need a break from dust anyways after hitting cap. May just re-download Breath of Fire III and re-play that beauty of a game. Mixing spells mid-battle to get more powerful spells was awesome
Probably going to re-download FF9 8 7 with Tactics, Suikoden, and a personal favorite - Xenogears.
Oh and Grandia! <3
Thank you PSN for selling all these awesome games for under 10 bucks - the hard copies go for the same price as full fledged PS3 games Q.Q |

I got a copy of Star Ocean 2 for the PS1 - it's two disks, fantastic RPG *Better on PSP* Got it for a trade for 2 sports games.
A week later a family brings in some friends when I was gone for a few weeks - I return to it stolen before I could even clear the first disk. FML.

Valx Valor wrote:All the Star Ocean games Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger All Final Fantasy (Top 3 for me in order FFVIII, FFVII, FFX) Xenogear and Xenosaga even tho saga came out after FFX How could I forget about Xenosaga?! I loved the first one! Truly the most epic of space drama RPG's.
... But then they came out with the second one with new character models and revamped battle system and it got bad. Still trying to clear it *It has areas where if you make a mistake - START OVER FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME*
Still - even with the crappier models and worse battle system the story is still there. So I trudge on!
EDIT: and let's not forget about the Persona series. I want Persona V so badly. |

crazy space 1 wrote:OH! if anyone is like hardcore into finding other old square enix RPGs they might of missed, try out one of my all time favorite snes rpgs. Roboterk.
It starts slow, up untill the robot crab boss the game seems uninteresting polt wise and the game just seems ok. But then, omg, the twist doesn't just intoduce an amazing plot, it introduces brand new gameplay elements over 15 hours into the game. Suddenly the whole game can be reexplored and battles fought differently.
Throw in a crazy fun crafting system and programable robot turn based semi RTS battle system. Oh , omg It's been 6 years but it almost be time for me to play through robotech again. Robotech? Wasn't there a Ps2 game based off that? A robot game where you could transform from humanoid - to floater - to airplane. You could shoot hundreds of missiles at once just to see it countered by hundreds more - was a good game really.
I'll have to hunt down this suggestion of yours! |

How about the Phantasy Star games?
Drakengard games were good too.
No love for Drakengard 1 for being overly repetitive. Never played 2 and I hear there's an MMO out for it now.
Phantasy Star would be awesome if it had a console MMO running US side like they supposibly do for asia.
And Radiata Stories is +1 I chose monsters - One day I'll go back and pick humans. |

If you loved the original Tactics, google ffhacktics. Amazing community of modders who have put together some sweet remakes of the game. I'll make sure to check it out - I spent hundreds of hours fine tuning my teams for FFtactics. Loved it. PSP Version with all the upgrades was garbage with that spell lag. |
