I think there is a misunderstanding somewhere. I believe what most people are asking for is NOT to make the game easier, just to not CONSISTENTLY have one side completely outmatched by the other in every way. I have been on the receiving end of those matches plenty - no amount of tactics will help against an organized team. All I do is draw all the attention and get gang raped while the rest of my team hides behind the redline. At best I can go into team chat and try to talk to them even though there is rarely anyone else with a mic. I don't think pitting several squads against one or two players is really what it is all about is it? Who couldn't dominate like that? Why are all you so afraid of a more organized enemy? "Duck Hunt" on Nintendo was fun for a little while, but it got boring quick. What if the ducks were able to kill YOU?
There actually was a game version of duck hunt where they shot back can't remember what its called now. Here is the thing. What is wrong is not so much the matchmaking but rather 3 other issues....
1 We all should start pub matches not placed in a random squad so we have to choose our teammates if we didn't start the match in a pre-made squad. There should also be incentive for squadding up like you can only drop OB if you join a squad. This also solves the problem of random people being made squad leader that have no clue how to be one.
2 We should by default be put into team chat the moment we are in the war barge to encourage communication and so people will group up. This will also help players find a corp to join that they enjoy playing with if they are new and it will foster communication and teamwork.
3 Voice chat should be on by default
These 3 things will solve the problem and then let the matchmaking system do what it is supposed to do put players in matches with similar SP level and ping times. I want the matchmaking system concentrating on making sure the players it groups have similar latency and skills so that we get games with low lag and the opponent is equally skilled in a sandbox WE control. WE the players should make the decision about how to group up as a team not the matchmaking system.
