I always thought prototypes had greatly improved stats but sacrificed stability because the word 'prototype' means an early sample or model; not a finished product. Prototypes are built to test (ironically we're in beta) and learned from, not to use in every day life.

Example: a prototype hair dryer might dry hair at incredible speeds but result in a burnt scalp.

But apparently that is not so here.

Not only that but the fact that they are mass produced for us to buy.

C'mon man, you have to think of this the way the DEVs would.

Make a crap weapon and give it to the newbies. Must be stable so they do not complain. After all, they haven't leveled up.
Give the hand of God to the pros, and make it fantastically powerful. Must be balanced though. Then in that case, more kick it is! Simply makes sense. It may be annoying, but at least it makes the field that much more level. Like i said, for the newberries.

And besides, more damage output means more forces acting on the gun means more kick.

That actually makes no sense, you don't give lower tier weapons such a considerable advantage in a game like this. The idea is to skill up in certain areas to gain better gear. If you have some of the best weapons to start out with and put penalties on the higher tier weapon that completely defeats the purpose, noob or pro has nothing to do with it..

The thing is the exile is special; Newberries don't have them because it is from the closed beta.

Also like Zitro says damage mods can make a Douvolle a lot more damage and more damage means less shots to kill, and less shots means the less you have to manage recoil.

Try to burst your shots more, the only spray and pray weapons are the machine guns.

I have one of the highest infantry KDR's in this game and can play better than the majority of players in this game. However it makes absolutely no sense that the exile AR (basically a BPO standard AR) has less recoil than the Douvolle does. This proves that who ever is handling the weapons still doesn't have a clue what they are doing. CCP might as well give a job to Scott Rudi.

Recoil is the first thing one nullifies with skill. So it makes sense to me that advanced weapons would have that requirement for effective use.
