Easy Math,
If I have 100 armor,
Field Mechanics L1: 5% of 100 = 105 armor Field Mechanics L2: 5% of 105 = 110.25 armor?
Or is it
Field Mechanics L2: 10% of 100 = 110 armor?
I'm trying to set up a spreadsheet for my upcoming character so this would help me figure things out.
Cheers! |

It stacks, so it's 110, then 115, then 120, and so on and so forth. Keep in mind that plates/extenders are not affected by your Field Mechanics/Shield Control skill, so you don't get confused. |

Actually, it's 104, 109, 114 etc.
For some reason the result is always "rounded" down, even when it's a whole number.
EDIT: I've only checked power grid, CPU and shields tho. |

See my detailed response here: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=549000#post549000
Bonus for individual skill is stacked, so: LVL1 = 5% LVL2 = 10%
Also, Marc Rime is correct. There seems to be some bug where everything is off by 1 point less, even when the results are whole integers (i've noticed it with PG and CPU). I have a thread in Bugs forum here, which a Dev basically confirmed, by moving it to bugs section: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=58050&find=unread
Keep in mind however, that this only works for individual skill bonus. If you have 2 different skills (or mods) each doing 5%, then it is: 100 * 1.05 * 1.05 = 110.25 But if it is CPU, PG, Shields or Armor, it is still rounded down to 110.
This is why most people think the math is simpler than it actually is: because the values are small enough that after rounding down the results appear same.

There is an acknowledged bug that is slated to be fixed at some point. Stacked Modules of the same Type or same Benefit will be penalized. The actually stack with no penalty currently but they won't always.
Just so your spreadsheet doesn't lead you astray in the future. |
