So with the reset in the skill cap, XP are going to be coming in nicely for the next two days.
I just got HMG proficiency level 1, yesterday, have around 40k SP, so figure the cap plus two days of passive, I should have around 280k.
Do I grind out the last 30k and grab the next two levels of proficiency, or do I keep the SP, fill what I can during the week, and jump to an advanced suit next week(currently only have the one level in)?
Going for the extra damage seems like a no brainer to me, the extra two levels will function as a complex damage mod, allowing me to run another module instead of the current double stack I run on my standard HMG.
However, that low module for the advanced suit looks quite appealing. I can't help but wonder how much more effective two armor repair modules would be, or having a second armor plate when running the better guns. The additional CPU would allow me to run a boundless with double damage mods, or even carry a better grenade.
Opinions? |

Opinions? Honestly the Type-A is kind of meh. Yes, you can run 2 reppers and you have more HP but even with 2 complex reppers it takes a loooong time to repair 812 armor. A plate would make you stupid slow and then you'd only have 1 repper meaning a couple minutes at least to rep your armor all the way back up. Not to mention you'd be more vulnerable to grenades since you're all armor as well as other heavies since the HMG is a projectile weapon. The type-A has been good to me in the past for forge gunning but as I never got in to the B-Series I always ran my HMG on a Type-II.
And the Type-A is stupid expensive. |

Where's your mechanics, shield control, shield regen and other passives? You might look at strengthening your foundation before getting a sharper stick. |

I'd go for buffing up your passives and modules first, as you can fit relatively advanced modules on a Heavy due to their low slot count.
If you have to make a choice between the suit and the gun, go for the gun. |

Dual reppers to me seems a waist, pair with a LogiBro to repair from the outside. More warpoints for both this way too and greater survivability.
Dual damage mods, skill up and make one a shield instead. There is a stacking penalty on the damage mods and boosted or faster regen on shields will give you that extra second if your passives are up to snuff.
Great gear does not a great warrior make... this isn't CoD, playing smart and boosting offense and defense works best instead of being an offensive machine with no defense or the reverse. |

Stacking penalty on damage mods is broken. Even so, the math used for stacking penalties means double stacking on a suit will give you 98-99% what you would get without a penalty. It's only that third module that would be noticeably ineffective. |
