As many of us are left wondering what to do after we are SP capped, an alternative to just grinding for isk or incremental SP increases is research on the more discrete parts of the game.
If anyone is interested in the more technical and possibly exploitable (in the fair-everyone can do it-sort of way) information about game mechanics let me know. I would like to test, refine, and document the knowledge surrounding a lot of the below information. As I do I'll come back and update this thread from time to time with our findings. The bullets are ambiguous as they are shorthand for what I want to test, but may inspire new ideas in others.
CHANNEL: 'Omni Labs'
- scan precision/profile and relationship to shield modules
- basic dropsuit detection mechanics
- vehicle/weapon effect on scan detection
- active scanner effectiveness
- falling damage, limits, and shield regen/resistance effects
- respawn invulnerability/resistance?
- Melee tips and tricks?
- melee damage % modifier (kinetic)? better against shield/armor?
- tacnet hashes and symbols, do the ticks mean something useful?
- terrain effect on suit detection.
- building/cover effect on suit detection
- Null cannon damage over time, 3 node, 4, node, 5 node...MCC on MCC damage.
- Are all MCCs equal in armor/HP?
- documented Socket types/map types and faction warfare vs normal skirmish.
- Vehicle weak spots? Killing gunners/passengers
- Mobile CRU exploits
- Vehicle expiration mechanics.
- Hacking time vs suit vs type of turret/installation/ counterhacking mechanics (base times and numbers).
- Redzone timers? Are they on individual people when in vehicles vs. people? (Post #19, #23. Ongoing...)
- Can you get a dropship above an MCC?
- Can friendly dropships 'airlift' friendly tanks...:) (REASEARCH POST #26: Failure)
- Can you use LAVs and REs or tanks to get in unique locations. (post #25, ongoing)
- what are the different exact weapon efficiencies against armor vs. shield
- hidden downsides of milita suits and efficiencies of militia weapons
- precise vehicles and collision damage to vehicle and player
- deployable (uplink/nanohive/etc.) detection by enemy
- uplink viewability by friendlies- who/when/why?
- isk/reward/kdr/wp match relationship. Can this be optimized? Is it better to share WP or get as much as possible? Is teamwork more rewarded? Is carnage effective, how much?
- actual/approx damage/splash of orbital strikes.
- Upper limits of active repping heavies and point bonuses.
- bleed out time mechanics/effects from explosive/extreme damage.
- Are the rumors of double tapping dead bodies true? (post #27: likely, ongoing...)
- map height exploitations
- anything else...?

It resets tomorrow, so if you aren't done tonight, you won't be done tomorrow. Anyway, all help would be appreciated, and anything that is discovered will be shared. |

I havent even started to work with you and your being a troll. What I meant was that I will start helping you after I max out with the next cap. That is if you still want my help.
Not sure what I said that could be construed as trolling, but you looked new so I thought you didn't know about the cap reset, but yeah we will all be grinding for the next few days so likely no experimenting. Nothing happened tonight I just wasted isk on missile turret HAVs hoping they wouldn't be as broken for me. And I'm not sure how much more welcoming I can get than "all help is appreciated". I mean I'd offer to pay people but...yeah right! |

I did about .75 mill worth of research to confirm that there seems to be no way to input the turret of a HAV inside the passenger area of a dropship. I don't think we will see tanks attached to anything other than an RDV. In spite of people being able to be sniped in them, dropships seem to one giant collidable structure. |

Also, I think I can confirm with about 70% certainty that you can force a bleed out on an enemy body. Not sure if weapon damage type matters, and haven't personally experienced it. |
