I find it weird that you're not rewarded at least +50 for protecting a null from a hack. I've seen people (and I've been guilty of it myself) literally just wait until the enemy hack is complete before going at it. You shouldn't be rewarded for helping the enemy team acquire war points.

I agree with this, considering counter-hack take even more time than hacking. Counter-hacker put themselve in more risk than hacker standing there in front of the console. We should get more point if you ask me. |

You're not the only one to say this. Getting a little extra for counter hacking is a good idea, since it would encourage people to play to win the match. The current setup forces you to choose between trying to win and trying to get WP. |

I wait on it sometimes because I know that I won't be able to counter hack it in time. No point in counter hacking for 15 seconds... Too late it's been captured... Ok now hack for realsies this time. |

It makes me want a button to shake my digital fist at them. |

yea they need a lot more bonus points for many more things you can do, stoping a hack, stopping virus upload avenging a kill, saving someone from a death ect. |

I think a kill multiplier type of thing would be appreciated (and maybe a different kill chime for it ) but getting points for helping your team like this is kind of a must imo |

I don't want to wait, but considering it takes so long to counter hack, you might as well <_<
They should give points for stopping the hack though, even if only +25. But more important than that, they should speed up the counter hack. It should at least be the same time as a normal hack, if not quicker <_< |

The reward for counter-hacking should at the very lest be equal to (if not greater than) hacking otherwise there is still an incentive for players to let the hack complete. |

I think because it take A LOT longer than normal hacking the Null-Cannon it should be at least the doubled amount of WP. |

This has been one of the most frustrating things I've run into in Dust. In a pub match the enemy hacked one of our nulls and I went to hack back. Two heavies from my team were in front of the console blocking it, preventing anyone else from hacking back, because they wanted the WP from hacking it after it flipped.
Since these two asshats were in a different squad I had no way of explaining that in the time they were sitting there helping our opponents they could have gotten a lot more WP from hacking the CRU and Supply Depot nearby, killing bad guys with their HMGs, or doing any number of things. Instead, they stood there doing nothing while it flipped. To add insult to injury, while they were trying to hack it back one of the opposing team casually tossed a few grenades in, killing them both.
Before this incident our team had consistently dominated 3 of the 5 null cannons. After this we ended up redlined and losing horribly. |

Risk vs Reward.
I agree 100% that we should get something for counter hacking. I find that a significant portion of my deaths come at the moment I'm vulnerable trying to counter hack a null cannon. So, I'm afraid that unless I have comms with a organized squad that will watch my back (vs. the 3-4 guys standing around that just let me get slaughtered) I have learned to avoid counter hacking for the advantage of hacking after its flipped for the shorter turn time and of course the points.

This is probably why we have the system we have now with no reward I agree. Certainly would be nice to have some sort of time based work around kind of like the correction to repairing. (Lav exploit) |

I agree. A counter hack should definitely award +50 wp. The temptation to wait until it is captured is great currently. |

If you counterhack it in time, the NULL cannon will not switch side, and you stand a better chance of winning - should be reward enough in itself, unless you only play for WP. |

/thread. You do bring up a good point. How about a 100,000 Isk bonus to each player on the winning team? Or only the winning team gets salvage items? Any other ideas? We are mercenaries, so some kind of incentive to win would be nice. |

100,000 extra does sound neat, it isn't excessive nor minimal.

This. Also it takes longer and there's the fact that you might not make it in time. +150 for counterhack.
