A system like this might be a good replacement for the skill cap, since we would in effect have a cap on SP earned per battle. You can only earn so many WP before the match is over, after all. I'm not sure how many skill points we get by simply being in a battle, but the total SP earned per match, while perhaps not as much as what we are getting now, would still be enough to keep players interested. It would also allow players with more free time on their hands to keep playing past the current cap (you can do so now, of course, but the rewards are less enticing), while still preventing them from getting too far ahead. If lower active SP gain is a concern, perhaps there could be a slight increase in passive SP gain. Thoughts? |

ive been trying to lvl up my assault dropsuit and just trying to get lvl 5 which cost 1.3 million sp is crazy difficult, that is going to take like a month or two... it should never take you a month to level up one skill point. Which is why I suggested increasing the rate of accrual for passive SP to compensate for slower active SP gain. |

Val'herik Dorn wrote:You obviously don't play eve if you think that 1 month is too long of a train... I've been currently training a skill for 15 days and have about 3 weeks left on it. EvE and dust are meant to take a long time to train up for the best gear and max skills.
So in short yes it will take a long time to max some skills wait till your trying to max out your vehicle skills when they have multiple levels of vehicles... you will take a lot longer than a month to train them.
Get used to the wait it is part of the game beyond your typical fps instant gratification CCP won't change the core of the skills to appease you just because you want it now. This is a unique problem, because there is no such thing as active SP in EVE, which makes it easier to control the rate at which players level up skills, but how can you do that in Dust when skill level and the amount of free time players have affects SP gain? I don't really know the answer to that myself, but I hope CCP comes up with a better solution. |
