I've deleted some trolling posts from this thread. That feels so inceptiony to me.

Anyway, if you feel like a post violates the forum rules, please report it using the flag button on the top of every post. This will report the post to myself or one of the other forum moderators and we'll come investigate and, if deemed necessary, delete/edit the post and issue a warning/ban.

From moderating the EVE Forums for the past four months with some other Community bros, I've found the best way to keep the forums civil is to make sure posts are moderated swiftly, to issue warnings and bans when justified, and to generally be vigilant. Taking action against someone's game account is an option for extreme or gross repeated violations, particularly if someone is circumventing forum bans or the like. This is generally a last resort, however.

As for the amount of time it takes away from us, well... I'm not a programmer. Moderating the forums doesn't prevent me from fixing bugs or making changes, because unless they really need the game to say "Hello world", I don't think I could provide much help there.

why is it that because things are bad somewhere else thats a good reason for them to be bad here? How is that a logical way of solving problems?

well personally Id rather be in the house NOT on fire, but that may just be me.

And its a very logical way of solving problems, its opening your eyes to a worse world so the current one seems less bad therefore insta problem solved.

The opinoin of one can relate the other, therefore creating a world not so bad as was.

really people just need to use the locker room for what its there for.

The forums are a important part of the beta as we help CCP to shape the game. Thus they need to proceed in a orderly professional manner. As such they have been lacking I feel we could maintain discipline and invoke a more business like work ethic on the forums with cross dust punishments. I also think a dust weekend game play ban would also deter forum deviants or a day long game play ban.

This is exactly what i was talking about earlier everyone on eve and dust acts like this isn't a game but the most serious thing ever were not working on an atom bomb were working on a game that is maint to be enjoyed, experienced, and moved on from or continued to be played.

I hope you end up being banned mainly because this isnt feedback/ideas this is a complaint one mans complaint to change something he has no power over.

soon as they start IP banning or having harsh punishments the forums will die due to fear of retribution.

The amount of posts violating forum rules for conduct is getting worse every week.
Its sicking seeing all the extra work devs and moderators have to to cleaning up the forums from people choosing to violate the rules.

Those people hurt everyone as that is time that could have been used to improve the forums themselfs or respond to issues or other work CCP needs to do, It takes man hours away from other tasks.

CCP should give harsher punishments right off the first offense and should slap people with week long bans or take away SP for players acting in a inappropriate manner. If you hit players where it hurt them they would be allot more choosy with their words.

The players doing this know who they are and certainly are undeterred by being banned from the forums for what they see as a badge of honor and a slap on the wrist.

Take away some SP when they shoot their mouths off and you will see a far more sunny, pleasant and hard working forums.

I guarantee it.

I think 40k sp away from your cap for serious offenses and personal attacks would be a good start.
