I agree bigger maps would fix a lot, along with foliage.
But these things are a long ways to come and need fixing atm.
Yes next build we're supposed to have foliage......
I don't know about you but I don't think hiding in below knee high grass is going to solve it. |

Here's the issue and rage or not the OP is right.
Now stop the pillow fight.
Redline sniping is wrong, you cannot hunt them down and as far as counter sniping of any kind, we have a hit detection bug that has occurred since first closed beta release.
They can shoot you maybe, and all you will get are shield flashes.
On top of that the long distance map drawing does not draw details at range. So someone looks like they're floating in the air when the map at that distance just hasn't been drawn for your client. Same with hiding behind rocks ect.
A big issue with sniper range is current map set up, size and lack of foliage which to have any effect on sniping, will be a build a long time down the road and nowhere near the future.
So I def agree with the OP there needs to be a temporary fix to negate some of these issues until we have a better build and such to counter some of these issues, and the above was just listing a few.
The OP has a right to rage and be upset. I certainly am.
After like a year of it, it comes to a point of just being sick of it.
Now imagine your already fed up with these issues and bugs, then open beta comes.
A huge influx of new players sniping while learning the game.
The bugs feel like an exploit everyone can use, as well as the map sizes.
So when I see a rage thread like this, I have sympathy because it needs fixed and I understand the frustration, not just saying stop the QQ and get over it, if that was the case it maybe years before we see bugs fixed ect. Because CCP will feel its not a big enough problem to spend their time on. |

Extremely big problem, widely experienced from the community and has been noted as an official bug for a long time.
Connection doesn't matter, it's more server side. |

Yeah I'll try that. **** outta here. oh quit whining and raging. i've died by snipers many times, i've also decided to counter snipe, doesnt matter. sniper rifles are here to stay my friend, they give efficient tactical look outs on maps, act as recon guys, and if you havent noticed... only a lucky [or skilled] sniper can drop you in a single shot. if you get hit, run for cover. if his friends are waiting, then **** it, go in guns blazing. your tantrum is not fixing anything I don't mind sniper rifles, when they are properly designed. Such as bullet drop. Travel time, velocity. Any of these thing mean anything to you. Or are you oblivious to the fact that these thing exist, they even create a challenge. Hit me after all that I will give you your props. Now you are a bad ************ and not a "straight " ass sniper.

one reason why there is no bullet time, railguns fire a a high enough speed that travel time makes no sense.
i know snipers are annoying, most i meet a rather poor players of the FPS genre in general. a majority worry too much abotu KDR.
wait for the longer maps, or keep crying about it... hell, i really dont care that most snipers are so scared of being shot. Let them be afraid to fight, just means they'll be useless when the big maps do come
In the meantime, let's replace railgun sniper rifles with blaster sniper rifles, high damage at close range.
When the bigger maps come then put the rail rifles back in. |

and i really dont think you could give them the mesh, code, and everything associated with said blaster rifle....
its kinda set as is, and whining about it wont make it the way you want it... lots of people like the Railgun Snipers, lots of people despise them....
to despise it though, you need to put alot of emotion into the game...but it's just a game, try to have fun, or Sniper Trolls win anyway

I'm very familiar with code my friend and it is sucky indeed, which is why I'm finishing my commercial pilots license instead of going into game stuffs like I always wanted to growing up.
Shifting the starter build in the code would be easy,
Revamp market, very easy. Remove pieces of code and replace with the new code that will link it to the new gun. Save old parts of code and associated files for later re insertion into the market, very easy basic stuff.
The only thing that would really take time is creating and designing the blaster sniper rifle and implementing the code for it.
Other then that, the other things are code basics.
Side edit.
Things that have already put in game like the market make it simple to re code those things, because basically your just tweaking pieces of code and not needing to redo the entire framework.
Change scripts here and there.
Same for anything already implemented, changing it is very simple if your not having to mass re code (scratch)the codes framework, |
