Let us know if anyone manages to complete a bounty and get paid.
Pairing the randomness of entering a match with the target with the need for recording equipment I see a very low likely hood that anyone will actually get a chance to attempt it. It sounds very impractical when you add the need to find the target in match among all the other players the required number of times.
Unless it's DUST money it doesn't exist. There is no transfer allowed now, and when the spigot opens it will come with a 90% transfer tax, turning that 100M into 10M. That's not a bad chunk of change, but hardly worth all the effort of tracking and recording. |

That's not a bad chunk of change, but hardly worth all the effort of tracking and recording. Should also note, it just doesnt have to be one person, you just have to be on the other team and get it on video.
That does increase the opportunity to be matched with your target and also find him in match. It also eliminates the need for every member to be recording as the kill feed will catch all the rest. I think the odds are still pretty slim, but that does improve them by a factor of four (present squad size).
However it also increases the number of mercs who have to split the bounty.
I get that the motivation is simply to harass the target and a payout isn't needed (or even necessarily desired), but with all the roadblocks I don't see it as effective. It's going to be rare that everything comes together and the target is hunted, so is he even going to notice when it occurs? Getting podded is an EVE pilots nightmare, not so the DUST merc. The enemy team is always hunting us and we get killed many times a day. The tiny additional effort that a bounty would generate just gets lost in the noise.
I'm watching, but just don't see the bounty system translating effectively to DUST. |

I'm sure after the contract is accepted you can resell the tanks. Whenever contracts enter dust that is.
CCP will tax all asset transfer heavily at the start to avoid overwhelming the DUST economy, so yes they will tax that too. |

With the current setup, probably not so much. However, once corps can own assets and other stuff on planets, it'll change.
How do you see it changing? |

Because, if you are owning the planet, you can't just ignore that someone is attacking it can you? Thats why the current corp battle system is flawed, but once all of that changes....
Attacking a district means you are attacking a corp, not a player. That means your bounty is not on any specific player so it can't be considered as marking a person. That takes it out of the realm of individual bounty hunters as it would require a corp match to attack. In that event the offended corp could bypass the whole bounty thing and attack directly for more efficiency.
That also assumes the player is in a corp and that the corp holds districts. |
