Hi guys I have a few noob questions:
1) In Ambush gametype, it's quite easy to get spawn killed over and over. My buddy basically quit. Trying to get him back but I have no idea how to tell how to avoid getting spawnkilled. I'm assuming we need for folks to put down those drop links so people can spawn in a better position? Atm, I told him to just play Skirmish to avoid getting dropped as soon as he spawns
2) On Ambush gametype I've run out of ammo before. How can we acquire some new ammo if there are no supply depots on the map? Are we supposed to rely on Logistics guys to put down those nanohives or whatever to refill our ammo?
Thanks! |

1- uplinks are your friend, especially on the hard-to-reach perches where MDs, forges, and etc can rain down hell
2-use nanohives, I'm not sure (I started as the artificer class), but I think your standard assaults start with the ability to use them. Otherwise, play ambush OMS. |

He either needs to get lucky and not spawn in front of enemy crosshairs or, yeah, someone needs to place an uplink in a position which is easy to defend and then somehow convince the team to defend it. My preferred method is to drop an uplink, surround the thing in nanohives and heal everyone who protects it. Alternatives suggestions include: landing dropships on uncooperative team-mates or buying a mic and straight up telling everyone to group up. |

When I spawn in ambush, the first thing I do is spin around like a madman. I usually get a couple easy kills. Better them then me, right? |

Ambush OMS > plane ambush both for flexibility and for possible points. Some players may enjoy base ambush more but I wouldn't recommend it to new players.
Also, while some of my buddies think I'm crazy for it, there's a reason why I play Skirmish way more than Ambush. Spawn death figures highly in that (even more important to me is that the Corp battles as well as FW use the Skirmish system so it's better training for competitive play than either version of ambush can provide).

Like Cross Atu I prefer Skirmish whenever possible.
The matches are longer, in general, although a Skirmish can finish in 15 minutes as well.
The rewards are higher in my personal experience. That is likely because I tend to drop to Logi Bro when required and it is required often in either Ambush. So Kills go down, Deaths can go up although the points can put me near the top. Still, don't like them much.
Ambush is just Death Match and I played enough Frag Fests back in the Doom and Quake days.
Ambush OMS is better than plain Ambush, to me.
Try to get your friend into a mic Squad and enjoy some solid team play. It changes everything*.
*except for New Berries. Nothing changes them. The idiots are still shooting at the MCC. |

OMS has two basic maps that i've seen and there is usually a supply and cru available at the start and more are added later including installation guns/launchers. I've never run out of ammo for my hvy on OMS. Regular ambush cycles through about half a dozen maps (it seems) some have supply/cru and some do not. It's hit or miss. |
