yeah, i know the feeling... i kinda just laugh when i see a group [on my or enemy team] gang up and wipe out a vehicle line, its awesome to see people actually working together to get something done...
kinda wish there was some tutorials that instill this teamwork

If players can't even work together to bring heavies and tanks down, then they really won't like the things that CCP is dreaming up right now. |

Every single match when players use the noob cannon AKA HMG and go 17-0 21-0 etc etc I think new players will give up on the game instead of stick around and learn the game, get better armor etc
There has to be some kind of ajustment wither being shorter range or more recoil etc, every single scrub I see with heavy armor and noob cannon is always in the top 3 on scoreboard.
I would like to see even more players join this game and stick with it, instead of getting owned by these scrubs and give up on this game and never returning. food for thought.. with that being said let the noob cannon scrubs come in and defend their noob weapon.. saying learn how to play bla bla bla yata yata yata.. Does it matter what gun though? An assault rifle, laser rifle, and the mass driver can have the same effect. Especial if the person using it is good with it. Oh man and don't forget shotguns and sniper rifles. Hell I think that is every gun in the game. |

as for anything really being Overpowered... i think everything is near the best it could be, since it's come to my attention that most of the guys getting up in arms about heavies AND snipers are not thinking properly about how they can get around or survive better |

optimal contexts? lolwut? He means shoot them in the cranium with a Sniper Rifle. or char them with the Laser Rifle.... or bomb them with the Mass Driver... or leave a Remote Explosive and draw them to it... there's many ways to take them out, hell, i saw a scout dance around HMG fire, and shotgun a heavy in the side of the head... be creative~
"i saw a scout dance around HMG fire, and shotgun a heavy in the side of the head"
This but close and personal, get very close to the HMG, and move around them very quickly, they can't turn around quick enough to get you.
What my tactic was with HMG's - Run away as fast as you can from them
What my tactic is now - Run directly to them as quick as possible, and dance around them shooting at the head. Works every time. |

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! men, what you doing ? don't give them any ideas ...
But i don't think a mouse makes any difference, as for HMG's have mobility penalties, that stops them from turning their gun around as quick as other classes.

The only need the same solution as laser rifles- a faster overheat.
I never had trouble with HMG heavies. Hell, yesterday i was running a slightly modified starter fit logi (exile AR instead of an SMG), then took down 2 HMG heavies in a row, only dying to a panic-nade. |

Cross Atu wrote:Don't worry, that adjustment will come naturally within the current build of the game as SP totals mature.
Also even before then the HMG is easy to counter so long as you engage it outside of it's optimal contexts. For example running in a (more or less) straight line toward an HMG will get you killed as surely as walking point blank into a shotgun or standing out in the open with incoming sniper fire.
Note I say this as someone who does not use the HMG, it's fine as is and will become more 'lackluster' (as compared to current effects) simply through the passage of time/accrual of SP.
i like how morons keep saying this, the HMG has a better optimal range than the AR.
and snipers are totally in effective against high level heavies. tacticle sniper rifle can barely scratch my militia heavy, i can eat 2 head shots and i still make my way to cover. i can't imagine what happens when i use the type-2 with maxed out shield skills. hobble over to cover after eating multiple head shots and still be fine. |

Kovak Therim wrote:I've had it. Learn to use teamwork or die. Those are your choices. I see so many in pubs without mics and in a squad of one. It's no wonder they are getting slaughtered every match. I'm actually a pretty nice guy, I'm just really sick of these topics.
Example: The other team just kept using a CRU in an Ambush match even though they were being butchered because nobody could call out a warning to the others. They lost a lot of clones to our guns before they wizened up and used the default spawn. Teamwork and communication will save you a lot of rage.
here's the thing I try and stick with my team but the wacky respawns sometimes spawn you by noone! I try and move or find cover it doesn't always work..I am trying to upgrade my dropsuits, shields etc.. only played this great game for 2 weeks and have 1,500 kills... I am saying I see more and more people use heavies and HMG and getting madd kills.. I guess with all these noobs running around maybe that's why shrughz |

Correct, or toss a nade over a wall/down a hall. Or shoot them with a mass driver. Or shoot them in the head from behind with an SMG (strafe as needed). Or pop them from the back/side with Nova Knifes. Or hit them point blank with a shotgun (note: usually best not to try this directly in front of a running HMG). Or burn them down at range with a Laser. Or heat shot them at range with an AR (note, may require levels in sharpshooter, but if you're running AR you should be getting those anyway).
Simply put, the HMG (like any other weapon) will kill you if you stand in front of it (within it's range) and let it shoot you/stand still/run into the path of it's fire (Note: The Laser is an exception, if you're a scout at mid range you can run down it's beam and kill the user ). If it (or any other weapon) were unable to do this it would not longer functionally be a weapon. To avoid being killed by a weapon do your best to not let it shoot you. Which means knowing it's range and using that to your advantage, it also means flanking, focus fire, and being willing to fall back. HMG users (like the user of any other weapon) are easy enough to kill so long as you go about it correctly (i.e. taking the weapon you're up against, and the terrain you're fighting within, into consideration).

It's also important to note that (until such a day, if it ever comes, that the Devs make random spawns less fatal) Ambush is not a balanced game mode and cannot be used for a legitimate discussion of comparative weapon balance. That's akin to running 100 straight battles on Manus Peak and then trying to talk about sniper balance, the context is improperly narrow.
In addition to the problems with the spawn mechanic (hands up anyone who's played 10 Ambush games in a row and not been spawned in right next to an enemy/into oncoming fire) the maps are smaller, tighter, and less diverse. All of which generally aids certain weapons over others by providing the type of engagement most suited to them.

I'm talking about an entire team effort, not one squad. We did what we could to help. Also, I'm pretty sure our squad was at the top of the team leaderboard. I've had lousy games in the past and been at the top. This is not acceptable, the other players on the team should have stepped up. No way I should have been #1.

I've been spawned with my back to enemies and away from my squad plenty in Ambush. Just do your best to join up with them. Here is the funny thing, when it's all said and done, heavies may actually need a buff because I get the feeling we'll be the ones getting slaughtered late game by proto assaults and be losing 2 or 3 times the ISK as everyone else. Some food for thought.
- Then, when players call for a buff for heavies, the same ones calling for a nerf atm will say they are juuuuust fine. |
