A warning light that shows when your in a snipers line of sight. Maybe add travel time for the bullet...adding more cover to the maps might work maps need some cleaning up anyway. Makin it so they can be seen after they shoot ones so that they need to place their shots in a smart way

I am not satisfied with the game in its current state and I disagree with your stance. If you find something in BETA and you enjoy it as I have this game then yes send them money!!!
If they have more money they can hire more coders. With more people working on the code the game is finished and polished.
Without money they will not even be able to afford the PS3 rights that none us have any idea how much they are. Be aware this is a free game to us. That means the ONLY paycheck the people who work on the game comes from our AUR.
Before you infringe on my right to speak ask yourself. If I was one of the designers whom would you listen to more.
I sent them money not because i liked what i saw. i liked the potential of the concept.

No i actually thought your were offended by the realism comment and i was talking about how it almost looked like you and breakin were about on borderline name calling. I just wanted to break that up since is was probably going to dilute a few points that needed to be made if the game has a chance of getting better and how the forum really needs to get its head outa its ass |

Please. Show me a handheld rail gun that can be used to snipe enemies from far away. If you want to call something stupid, why don't you take a look at your sentence structure genius. The only way you would be able to even prove the effects would be great enough to effect the weapon is by going to another planet, with a working replica of a gun used in DUST, and shooting it.
This is a game, not a sim. So quit trying to make it out to be something its not. |

Kermit, your first mistake is posting rage threads about losing your expensive vehicles. Has it ever occurred to you that no vehicle is entirely safe in public matches when faced with a player who specialized into anti-vehicle weapons? |

I still say there should be 2 classes of Sniper Rifle. Heavy Ballistics, and the current Rail Gun. Rail Gun is highly accurate, high rate of fire (say the same as current Tactical Sniper Rifle) but low damage. I think something on par with the Tactical Assault Rifle, maybe a litte bit more. Heavy Ballistics is low rate of fire, high damage, and has a bullet travel time that the Sniper must account for (I still don't like bullet drop, as someone pointed out already, we have scopes right now that can account for that, and I think travel time would add enough to make it challenging.) As well as damage reduction at range that I mentioned on another sniper thread. I'd link to it, but I don't know how to do that. |

The Sniper Rifles in game shoot projectiles that travel 2,500m/s. Thats 8,202 ft/s.... or 1.5 miles/s. I doubt there will be any drop while its traveling at "Hypervelocity" within the confines of the current maps. I think correlating flight time with the advertised velocities is enough, and the simplest thing to do to add a challenge. |

I have no issues with the sniper rifles the way they are. Low magazine capacity and the touchiness of the controls makes it challenging enough for me. The way it looks, Ill be able to stock a dropship fitting in about a years worth of playing. I would like to see 2 neutral spawn points for each team. The spawncamping on here is the most frustrating thing about it. MCC spawns are worthless if the other team has your team backed up to it. I have seen this often. This is due to the major imbalance between the haves and have nots. How about veteran and rookie and mixed battle options. Where the people who have got in on the very first beta, and are professional EVE players, can have their epic battles. Then us noobs could build our skills and assets, to a certain point, in the rookie battles for lesser ISK. Its very discouraging to a brand new player when they are just a sheep in a slaughter. There is nothing fun about having NO hope and being killed by a tank or dropship the very moment that you spawn. And, this at either a cost of ISK or real MONEY. I know this is an unfinished product. I know that it is free to play. I also know that after the full game has been on the market for a while, it will be difficult to keep newbies around if they think it will be three or four years before they can even compete. I really don't like the idea of a transferred economy. Is this a new game or an add-on? I fear that would create an even larger imbalance not only between the Vets and the Noobs, but also between those groups and the "middle class". This could be so severe that the game might lose a significant number of the people who started out on DUST and built a decent arsenal (middle class), because they are virtually hopeless against an entity with unlimited resources. (just like banks in the real world economy) Too many, if not all, video games have these only the rich get richer economies, leveling systems, ratings, etc. The way this one is looking, one will have to join one of about 20 large and well-established corporations to be involved in a contract match and have any hope of minimal success. I think if there were some SP distinctions/rankings, and game mode criteria, then the game could be even more successful. If these things are not in place, then like so many other MMOs, there will be a great game that nobody plays except the few that are willing to dedicate their entire lives to it. That's not a good business strategy unless of course they don't care about maximizing profits.
I like this game and I see great potential in it. But, I know that the devs aren't going to starve if I don't buy aurum. They gettin paid. Its the overall profit to the CORPORATION that will be affected. Is that some sort of irony? |

Because my strength and ability to nail a target is one of the reasons you have a right to be the jackass that you are. Semper Fidelis I was saying realism for game balance sake not for realism sake there are other ways to balance it thats just one...and i was saying that and arguement shouldnt be brought down to the level of name calling and outright hate. Somtimes games are for fun some have a message somtimes realism is needed for them.. thats all im saying More armor in the dropsuits that you have to pay for would be a nice start and a good reason for the players to advance them as it is every dropsuit that ive seen comes with 125 armor wile the armor rating on the drop ships drops about 120o0 points from the milita one to the most advanced. Check the numbers yourself. Stats dont lie. Edited the zeros on the dropship armor. I forgot one and am still sure i am wrong but the drop is there none the less.
The higher level dropsuits also have higher PG and CPU, as well as more slots, allowing you to fit more (and better) modules on them. If you want more HP on them, add Shield Extenders or Armor Plates.
There's really no other use for the High Slots (other than maybe damage mods if you don't mind being a glass cannon), so you might as well fill them with Advanced or Prototype level Shield Extenders. The ability to give the Proto level dropsuits an ungodly amount of health via modules more than makes up for it's lower than expected base health.
This is, of course, just my opinion. |

Well is for challanges sake not making it a sim.. and ya no we do have railguns plasma weapons there are just to pricey to mass produce...and exoskeletons and cyborg arms for anyone who cares...also since railguns fire metal by their nature its kinda given that bullet drop will effect them at some point

Your only grounds for demanding changes to this game come from the money you can withold, not the money you've already spent. If you think otherwise, you are just plain mistaken. I would love to hear your explanation for how I am infringing on your free speech. Overpowered snipers, why people using so much of everything else?
And anyway, don't use dropships in pub games, just because a tool exists doesn't mean you use it all the time.
Realy need some kind of light aircraft that can shoot and fly that is inexpensive (milita version too), I am pretty sure most people going pub matches don't want to spend more isk just to move around people. |

I am glad to see you have a good outlook on the idea of a game. I suck at FPS and I don't have any of the complaints that the "killers" have. It's just a little bit weird that the "I go 30-1 every battle" are the only mercs who cry when they die and complain that weapons are OP. Also you are correct, don't field it if you can't loose it.

I dont mean this in a harsh way I love the game but its way way misbalanced.
Sniping is a skill not a weapon that has no kick and can be used well without much experience. Dropships by the name alone says people spawn on it and deploy into the field. Why would I pay 1.2mil ISK for a hull alone for something that does not give me points and can be destroyed by any bu abusing L33T player or any noob with a anti armor spawn?
I realize this is beta what I think you fail to realize is how many people are abusing bugs that are not reported. I would list them however that would just give you an influx of new bug abusers and I am sure you know them.
I dont care about the boosters i bought I realize they will be gone in seven days. Ill buy more later, after next update.
Thanks for a great game Im just sorry there are so many that seem to live to exploit your few weaknesses.
PS- The moment the balance is found I will be buying the merc pack and about 20 bucks more of credits. I do love this game and respect the fact that the more money into a game the better the game will be.
Balancing is still something that ccp is working on. As for expensive dropships... you have to be very careful when deploying those. Your fittings and skill in handling the dropship will determine it's survivability, because trust me... Noob AV cannot down a well-fitted, standard-level dropship efficiently, and armor dropships can actually be used FOR combat. As it stands however, there is no WP reward to encourage people to be pilots. In the end, it's very important not to risk deploying something you can't afford to lose.
As for snipers being overpowered, I'm sorry you feel that way. What exactly have you experienced that causes you to feel that way? Simply getting killed by one doesn't warrant them being overpowered, even if a noob is controlling the gun. Snipers don't control the outcome of matches, and the ones that CAN have a real impact on a match are good snipers that have tried quite hard to get proficient at it.
In the end, winning a match is great, but it's more important to think about the actual importance of the pub match you're in. Are you there with squadmates? Lots of friendlies are evil little turds that would steal and wreck your precious dropship if given the opportunity. lol Winning is good, but calculate who you're with to determine if committing resources to that single pub match is worth it, and if the match is going really bad, and you're getting sniped jumping out your mcc or running out your base.... Maybe you should just "Leave Battle", because getting "redlined" generally means "game over".
Both EVE and Dust teach their players balance; Know when to be selfish, and know when to commit everything for your team. It can't always be "all or nothing".
Don't quit Dust. It's a beta, you are a volunteer tester first, and a player second at this point, and because you are a volunteer tester that has graciously put trust in CCP for a good game... they owe you a good game, and you owe them (and yourself) a little patience and helpful commentary to help make a great final product.
Know when to walk away instead of being obsessed with the win. Especially, if you've sustained heavy monetary losses. |
