I have no issues with the sniper rifles the way they are. Low magazine capacity and the touchiness of the controls makes it challenging enough for me. The way it looks, Ill be able to stock a dropship fitting in about a years worth of playing. I would like to see 2 neutral spawn points for each team. The spawncamping on here is the most frustrating thing about it. MCC spawns are worthless if the other team has your team backed up to it. I have seen this often. This is due to the major imbalance between the haves and have nots. How about veteran and rookie and mixed battle options. Where the people who have got in on the very first beta, and are professional EVE players, can have their epic battles. Then us noobs could build our skills and assets, to a certain point, in the rookie battles for lesser ISK. Its very discouraging to a brand new player when they are just a sheep in a slaughter. There is nothing fun about having NO hope and being killed by a tank or dropship the very moment that you spawn. And, this at either a cost of ISK or real MONEY. I know this is an unfinished product. I know that it is free to play. I also know that after the full game has been on the market for a while, it will be difficult to keep newbies around if they think it will be three or four years before they can even compete. I really don't like the idea of a transferred economy. Is this a new game or an add-on? I fear that would create an even larger imbalance not only between the Vets and the Noobs, but also between those groups and the "middle class". This could be so severe that the game might lose a significant number of the people who started out on DUST and built a decent arsenal (middle class), because they are virtually hopeless against an entity with unlimited resources. (just like banks in the real world economy) Too many, if not all, video games have these only the rich get richer economies, leveling systems, ratings, etc. The way this one is looking, one will have to join one of about 20 large and well-established corporations to be involved in a contract match and have any hope of minimal success. I think if there were some SP distinctions/rankings, and game mode criteria, then the game could be even more successful. If these things are not in place, then like so many other MMOs, there will be a great game that nobody plays except the few that are willing to dedicate their entire lives to it. That's not a good business strategy unless of course they don't care about maximizing profits.
I like this game and I see great potential in it. But, I know that the devs aren't going to starve if I don't buy aurum. They gettin paid. Its the overall profit to the CORPORATION that will be affected. Is that some sort of irony? |
