In many shooters 100 kill games are revered by many and are constantly sought out by many of the top players as they are considered one of the few ways to prove true skill.
However, some games have matches that are too short to legitimately put up this number and some games have matches that just play too slowly and don't have enough action for someone to find this many kills (like Dust 514), so another number is used as that standard.
How many kills in Dust do you think is as impressive as a 100 kill game in other games like MAG or COD? What is that barrier that the top players and, if this game ever picks up, Youtubers, should be constantly trying to break? What do you consider to be that "wow I can't believe he just up that score" number? Assume exploits aren't used (like sniping from a soft spot behind the red line) and vehicles aren't abused (like hiding in a HAV the entire game with a full party backing you up). Most average players probably don't care much about this but good players love trying to break that barrier and set new limits.
For reference, a Skirmish match typically plays for around 17-22 minutes and Ambush typically plays for around 6-9 minutes.
I say 40 kills in Ambush and 60 kills in Skirmish should be those magic numbers. |

Also a suggestion for CCP: In most online shooter there always seems to be this friendly, unspoken competition between the top players over who can put up the highest score / amount of kills in a single game. I think it would be neat if there was a "top scores" leaderboard that listed the highest kills, war-points, ISK gained/lost, killstreak, etc put up by players in a single public match in each game mode. |

I've gotten 42 kills in ambush with nothing but an AR and Nanohives.
Pretty sure I just set the record for Ambush, but of course I never told anybody because without any proof, well it's pretty much horseshit.
Getting high numbers in a tank is unimpressive regardless of how easy it's becoming to take them out. |

Ya, that's why we should have that "top score" stat and/or leaderboard so we don't have to rely on photographs as proof. |

Average "high kill" games I see from good killers as follows: Ambush 22-30, Skirmish 35-45
Good (equivalent to 100-kill MAG status) high kill games: Ambush 35-45, Skirmish 50-60
Often you will see these kinds of score from a select group of groundpounders across a few corps. |

You can't forget KDR.
I may get about 40 kills a game but usually die no more then 3 times,
If you get the 40+ kills and have died 20 freakin' times, well ya. |

Dust respawn mechanics make it hard to get a lot of kills if you are dying alot, so anyone with 40+ kills usually has 6 or less (more often 1-3) deaths in my experience. |

Pub stomping is more sad then skillful, especially in a game like this where you get a HP and damage advantage on top of the map knowledge and practice. For youtube I prefer good clan matches or a well edited montage.
But if you want a benchmark... 34/0 is about the best Ive seen in skirmish. So 40/0 would be pretty crazy. You would have to steamroll newbies early then camp a CRU to get that score, and they would have to keep spawning instead of redline sniping or quiting. |

Since this game is a squad based shooter, I'd suggest 10,000 WP (Four Orbitals) as a pretty lofty, but reachable, gold standard. |

48/0 was best imo with LR.
and of course when we cloned them the lil' clone bug happens where it lags the game out instead of calling victory.

I don't think we'll be seeing any 100 kill games anytime soon. Maybe with full release, when all the proto geared players feed off the new players. My highest kill score is 62-4, highest KD 52-1, both skirmish. |

Pretty sure I just set the record for Ambush, but of course I never told anybody because without any proof, well it's pretty much horseshit.
Getting high numbers in a tank is unimpressive regardless of how easy it's becoming to take them out. 45/9 I win lol just kidding ( I did do this but didn't mean to insult you) Good job dude |

Haha Good job dude you beat me, I went 42-2 But I don't count KDR as part of the equation, if you were going that HAM to get 40+ kills, who cares about the deaths?
Also don't feel bad the rest of these guys made their accomplishments in Skirmish, where it's very easy to stay alive and rack up kills from choke points or vantage points as well as spawn trapping. Where as In ambush where you have a guy spawning around you in all 8 directions and you have to constantly be on your toes, it's a lot more satisfying. |
