I normally fly vipers for practice, but I tried a gorgon and it felt different to me. Maybe it was just a mental thing, but it felt larger, heavier...weird almost.
Is it just me, or do they really fly in different ways?
I'd like to know, because I was going to spec into gallente dropships (I figured there might be a bonus in the future to race) |

I think the gorgon is heavy so it is slugish. |

Id agree the gorgon feels like your flying a house. Plus they catch fire and armour bleed as soon as you look at them the wrong way . My myron flys out with over 4000 shields and about 1200 armour . Its pretty nimble and the only thing that takes me down these days is when I glich out (not fun for a squad in transport lol) |

It might be my imagination, and I haven't flown a caldari dropship since the build before codex, but it seems like there is indeed more weight behind the gallente ones. They're a bit more sluggish as far as elevation, and seem to have more momentum behind their movements. |

Yeah, you'd think the armour repair module would save gorgons...nope.
Should I spec into gallente ships for the maybe future race bonus? Or just get caldari? |

One is a heavy grey brick with huge thrusters.
The other one is a slightly less heavy brick with exactly the same thrusters.
Hard to know since both HAV types wind up with the same top speed according to the highly accurate descriptions.
Oh wait, accurate descriptions were in another game.
And on a less snarky reply front, race specific benefits have been discussed. No delivery date, of course. |

I think the inertia is worse on the armor DS. However the torque engine probably fixes that. I'm thinking though that armor tanking increases the time it takes for a swarm launcher to lock you. |

Well Caldari is more shields while Gallente is more armor. All the armor mods have a penalty to mobility, so it's not too far fetched to imagine the Gallente also has less mobility, hence why it feels "like flying a house." |

Armor dropships have more weight because they have more armor. Therefore, it feels like they have a bit more weight and fly accordingly. |

I flew a few vipers in empty corp matches, and enjoyed it. I then tried a gorgon. It fell over when it arrived. I took off sideways, it handled like a pig. I landed it, it fell over, I landed it again, it blew up.
Think I'll stick to caldari. |
