I have been reading a lot about the lack of fluency in Dust 514, after playing the game for a about a week now, and having experienced such lack of fluency. Then I ask my self "what is it exactly causing this?" After thinking deeply about it, I came to realize that the answer to that question was harder than I anticipated.
Slow movement is definitely not the problem is just slow and I love it.
When trying to jump over a fence/crate which sometimes can be a pain on the ass, perhaps this is the problem, but that's because your out of stamina (jumping also consume stamina preventing you to jump as high a you normally would) so as much as this may be the problem, it is intended and can be avoid by managing your stamina more efficiently, or wait in front of the fence/crate until your stamina recharged.
Terrain traversing? Well it fills very straight forward to me. Maybe with the exception of a scout guy trying to climb a mountain, but of course...
When driving vehicles if were not for the crazy controllers it would go pretty fluid so the game can be fluid at least when you know how to drive properly.
Is the texture popping giving the player this sensation? Personal note: I don't think so.
It is possible that the problem is a combination of several things so we got to be open to that possibility as well.
The last one is the lag, but I assume that is another topic, and hopefully CCP will take care of it.
If we find out what is exactly making the game non-fluid, CCP may be able to fix it if is a glitch/bug or change/tweak it if it is a intended gameplay mechanic...
So tell me/CCP what is it? |

For me personally, I think it all comes down to how aiming is calibrated. The combination of sensitivity, dead zone, aim assist, and acceleration all have to be in harmony, which they currently are not. The aiming feels way too "twitchy" and not "smooth" like it should.
I think the sprinting mechanic is slightly off too.
I remember reading that they are still tweaking the core mechanics, and that an updated version should be coming in the next major build/expansion. Most modern shooters have this aspect nailed though, so I'm hoping that CCP can do the same relatively soon. |

I wouldn't say that, was and argument, I see it more like a question that can be answered in many different ways, those answers can make a map of ideas that in the right hands (hopefully CCP's) can be really helpful!

I think so too, Do you think the players should be able to reload while running?

I'm not sure, maybe. While it would be nice to be able to, it does add some tactics in that you have to sometimes decide in a split second whether to sprint away or reload. Depending on the situation, one will often help you live and the other will cause you to die.

From the 29-05-2012 The following topics were discussed by the dev team this week regarding gameplay issues in the beta:
Thukker Grenade - AUR Only item Update: We will introduce an ISK variant soon, our goal is not to have AUR only items in the game, ever.
GÇ£CheatingGÇ¥ or farming SP without risk Update: There is fix planned for this, the idea is that there will be a cap on total rewards that can be earned per match.
Other Suggestions and Feedback/Requests
[REQUEST] Reloading while running - This planned for in future updates
