I have seen my brother do a little Planetary Interaction and got some ideas from watching him.
I noticed that you have to link and route structures to transfer goods. Well, why don't you show a transport train moving materials from structure to structure. It can be boardable and EVE players can upgrade it to have some sort of defensive capability.
Which lead me to this idea, why not hire a corp of Dust players to rob that transport. A EVE player can hire a group of Mercenaries to steal a portion of the transported materials which the Dust mercs have to successfully board the transport to detach carts or something. The robbers have a choice of either finishing the heist before the next checkpoint continuing for a biger pay at he risk of a defensive team coming and taking back what they stole. For the owner of the transport a notice will appear and a defensive contract should go live with the amount of ISK the Owner wants. However if the contract isn't taken the robbers can rob undisturbed.
The robbers can detach the segment of the transport and hook it up to a HAV or another land vehicle (possibly driven by a player) to carry the stolen goods.
Once the robbers got enough of the loot they can take the loot to a launch pad that their employer owns (yes who ever issued the contract must have a colony on the planet to do so) and blast the materials in orbit.
What do yal think of my heist? |

This is a great idea. i don't see it being possible anytime soon but I really hope something like this happens cause this brings another great interaction for people in EVE and Dust. Also this can be used in Hi-sec interaction as well. |

I like this idea, but as it's been mentioned before. I don't think this will be something they'll implement anytime soon. This could be excellent material for an expansion though. |

https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=448435#post448435 Link to my map proposal (includes a train that you could easily set up for a heist!)
But yeah, the Quafe event was based around stolen documents....still have those BPCs actually.
EDIT: Things in the map that would go good with this game mode:
- Secret Bio-Engineering Facility: So someone would steal the secrets the complex faculty derived from moss (yes, moss).
- Quantom Locking Transcontinental Train: Brings up resources for the local Military outpost, that guards the train and secret facility. You could totally pull a heist off that. The reward would be purely salvage, but a ton of salvage (A whole train load!).
- Mountain Top Relay: This wouldn't have much to do with an actual heist, but if you were to, let's say break into it, I'm sure you'd find things that it's currently monitoring (like ISK transfers to the planet?) and you could redirect that ISK transfer to your own wallet. Cha-Ching
- The Military Base: Has a bunch of guards and is guarding everything else. But, a military base that is guarding a secret facility is bound to have OFFICER VEHICLES! Hack them real ninja like and drive off with them to a rendezvous.

This is a fantastic idea, thank you for coming up with it! I also see this as a way to place more value on demolitions, vehicle, and hacking roles. It is even possible to implement capturing space elevators as a worthwhile objective. Although it would take much more resources, capturing one would enable significantly larger quantities of whatever you steal to be transported off world. |

well, those links usually aren't worth much, it would be better to steal all the contents of a launchpad or storage depot but it could make PI materials skyrocket, and anyone who was here before PI know that they are already much higher than before. it could work though |
