I'd like to see a particle beam aka Particle Accelerator. Something that shoots chargeable high powered protons and neutrons. I'm talking something that can kill turrets in one shot with an "Enhanced beam" mode and then a "standard mode" for just sniping other mercs.
Enhanced mode - will force you to stand still and charge up
standard mode - will allow you to move around and snipe.

Particle accelerators are your standard blaster/railgun. Only they use plasma in blasters, and send shells in excess speeds of 7000m/s in railguns. |

Sounds overpowered but may not be a bad idea as an amarian forge gun if the science was worked out to give it a realistic feal (ya I know most people wont know much on particle physics but surprisingly are brains have a inate sense of logic.) And also work out the stats to play well in tje game. 1 shot kill is a no by the way. |

see thats what im saying. Its too generic. Railguns use magnetic trips to propel a projectile.
I'm talking like a big ass laser cannon that you can charge up and obliterate anything in its path.

Edit: ITS A PARTICLE BEAM!!! Its GOING TO friken kill you in one shawt. What do you expect? The idea is for it to be primarily used to take down turrets and vehicles. look at my other post, I explain a little more about a few technicalities of it. Things that would introduce a bit more balance.
I'm surprised no ones mentioned that this game is pay to win. |

I've had my Dropship shot down by particle accelerators already. I think it was an orbital bombardment, but still confused by both events. |

The Assault rifle is a particle accelerator.
Rail guns don't use magnets, they use conductive rails. Gauss and coil guns use magnets.
The coming soon plasma cannon will probably be what you are looking for.
A particle cannon would be a hybrid weapon, caldari/gallente tech. Ammar would have a laser/microwave/arc cannon.
Just being a particle beam doesn't make it powerful, the image on old tv sets was made with a small particle accelerator making an electron beam aimed at screen.
