With tanks to make them go much faster than with a controller. Is this the source of Zitros fast tank? And others? |

i wouldn't doubt it.
the controller with all vehicles is pure garbage. whoever thought that turning and accelerate should be on the same stick should be fired. |

Well. If KB/M is like 99% of all other cross platform FPS games.... yes, its much faster.
Small things like this is why KB/M shouldn't be allowed on console. If there was truly no advantage to the KB/M setup, then you wouldn't see companies making peripherals to use a KB/M on other console games which don't support it. I play BF3 on both console and PS3, aiming with a mouse is wayy easier, and the tank turret moves as fast as you can move your hand. |

You know it could be possible I've had people mention that my tanks are incredibly fast but I just thought they were talking about the fact i fitted afterburners to my armor tanks, either way hopefully someone writes a ticket and ccp looks into it. |

They aren't going to take away KB/M so stop crying you pathetic little console kiddie, wanna know the real reason KB/M players own tear factories like you? because they've been playing FPS games with a KB/M for the last 15+ years. |

Some people on PC shooters play with a trackball, and do quite well, others tried it and suck at it, if they limit this to controller only they would shut out all the people who have ever played eve and use Mouse/KB setup or all the pc shooter people would automaticly NOT play this game by default.
Ive been owned by "controller" people and by M/KB standards i am pretty good, but regardless a good player will always beat a bad player regardless of the controls he practiced with to get up to "good".
But down the road, shooters are Mouse/KB by nature, if the first PC's had a controller attached in the 90's instead of M/KB we might all go OMFG LOL hes using a mouse ....look guys he's playing with a mouse, who does that these days!!! But no shooters were born with the mouse, well actually they were just Keyboard at first...but then again Wolfenstein or doom did not have up or down movement.
Back when shooters were Keyboard only, i once attended a tourney and saw numerous guys start duke nukem 3D with a Mouse + Keyboard, i was like LOL who uses that! I still got second without a mouse and the first guy didn't use a mouse either.
So, yeah is it the controller or the person ? |

You sir are very very wrong. Before you type anymore in this forum do us a solid and look up analog input with controller and digital input with mouse and keyboard applied in a console. Write a report...like you would in grade school. Learn a thing or two and if you feel inclined to act like you know something share with the class. ONLY then may you return.

I thought this thread was suggesting a glitch in which a kb/m would some how allow a tank to actually move across the map at a faster rate, or am I wrong and this is just the same game pad vs. mouse argument we've all heard a thousand times. |

I do actually but i keep one hand on the controller so i can turn it faster in between using the mouse for fine tuning the aim, I also find its easier to zoom in with the controller to keep the mouse moving more smoothly. |

With regard to infantry movement advantage i have rigorousy tested move navi, DS3 and kb, there is no movement advantage between with exception to perhaps scout suits, but with assault, logi and heavy i have not noticed any movement advantage.
By advantage i mean strafing and not actually movement of the character, in this case the controller wins since it has 360 control vs 8 directions from a KB. |

Don't forget to mention the limit on the amount of keys pressed at a time, or that trying to move in any direction but forward, back or left while chucking a grenade is nearly impossible, actually scratch that you can probably move to the right if you dislocate something. |

I learned to play Dust on controller. After six months I had to relearn mkb.
And IMHO they are pretty well balanced together.
I even use a combination of both: for vehicles I use controller except rail tank zooming and short time LAV hopping. |

Oh yea i forgot to mention that, ghosting or anti-ghosting whicever it is, yea pressing more than 2 keys at once is not possible so yea we cant sprint and toss a nade for instance, hows that for a disadvantange.
Fact is the more keyboard command you need to use the more screwed you are. yes in general areas like aiming and moving it may be better but there are many downsides to it as well. |

Im going to ignore the ignoramus who uses the term "Console Kiddie".
There are things you can do using a KB/M that you cannot do with a DS3. I have not tried this game with my KB/M because i dont feel like unhooking them from my tower.
But, in BF3, PS2 etc. you can do a 180 with the flick of a wrist and drop whoever is sneaking up behind you in less than a second. You can look around twice as fast fast and engage multiple targets easier whether in a vehicle or on foot. Ya, you could turn the sensitivity way up on the remote, but then your going to find it hard to engage longer range targets as effectively as the guy who has it only halfway.
It takes practice to get used to the KB/M, but so does everything else in the world and frankly thats not a good enough excuse.... honestly, thats just a statement.
Im not hating on KB/M. I have a steam account, and also have more games than any one person could ever play in one lifetime. My point is, KB/M and Console Remotes are too different to be mixed in an online competitive game. And for a game like this to be fair, i think everyone should be tied down to either the KB/M or the DS3, |

There is a big problem with KB/M cause the tank driver with a keyboard can drive faster around corners while the controller user needs to slow down to be aible to turn. With simple words KB is a exploit cause the tank doesnt slow down when turning. |

Yea and the tank crashes into objects as a result, im not saying you're wrong on kb having an advantage but i know that turning is not one of those advantages.
To say its an exploit is nonsense. As ive said keyboards in this game have little to no advantage over controllers and there are many respects to controller movement and inputing more than 2 button commands at once that give controllers a leg up. Both have advantages and disadvantages in this game
With regards to KB on tanks yes there is an advantage that controllers dont have and it can either be disabled for vehicles which may be the only solution or more readily simply changing the algorithm to mimick the acceleration curve that occurs with analog controller input.
Also they perhaps need to create a governor type of function on tanks so that they have a max velocity threshold and they need to tweak that to adjust for keyboards is all.

That's hardly crying. Personally, I think you're jealous that after you upgrade your hardware you can't afford anything else. Personally, I'm real surprised you haven't figured out nvidia and amd aren't trolling you. Do you have any idea what production costs of those components are? You've been had. |
