I primarily use the laser rifle, and the volume of firing it seems to be turned up much higher than the rest of the sound effects. I actually would prefer if there were a different noise altogether, since I find the current one irritating, but turning it down a bit would be a good start.
I've tried turning down the sound effects, but then it's hard to hear enemy shots/explosions. Please fix this volume discrepency. |

I think this is actually supposed to be a tactical consideration for laser use. Loud, flashy, impossible to ignore. making it easier to use them would absolutely push them over the OP line. |

But making it quieter a bit for the user isn't a "buff". Its a sound higher than all others in volume. |

drowning out enemy fire is a weakness. but I'll give it to you that it is annoying.
But i like it personally. on the rare occasions i use one it's more a cool sound than aggravating, because I usually use an AR or forge gun for my meat and potatos killing |

You make a good point that noisiness is a tactical disadvantage, both for others hearing you and you being unable to hear others. I actually really like the CCP builds in disadvantages like this (though none of the OP laser threads seem to aknowledge this disadvantage). '
I just wish the sound itself didn't make my ears bleed. I mean it seriously lowers my ability to enjoy the game sometimes, which is why I think it should be changed in some way. |
