OK so we all know this game has way to many issues
but this aint about the issues its about how people will take it
i have this thery that people will drop off this game in about a month cause it has so much wrong with it i already see it happening
i beleve there doing what mag did by letting every one play beta and mag is now dead
i think this game needed to stay in closed beta for another 6 months good job ccp you may have killed ur game before it was born
it just saddins me to see every one getting off it already cause its so bad that's all |

to be fair mag wasn't free and you didn't level up and progress while you weren't playing. Hopefully people will come back with new shiny trailers and the fact that they have 2 million sp built up.
I wouldn't say it's bad, but it's a shell of a game that's for sure. One more update I have a feeling one more update and the game will be in a real open beta state. |

I'm ok with it being in open beta. If those people drop off just because they are impatient and don't feel like contributing to the development of the game and choose to remain ill-informed at the same time by not even bothering to come to the forums then that is their problem not mines. |

Even if a lot of people drop off Im sure there will be some that stay, and the people that do drop off will surely comeback later and some will stay and some will leave again.
This will probably continue through the life of the game people will come, people will leave, and people will stay. Theres not much you can do about it if someone just strait up dont like the game |

At least several individuals in games like EvE and DUST will always become prolific, and you can bet that you'll be seeing Corp names multiple times if you ever go into the territory side of things.
Also, keep in mind that CCP has done very limited advertisement for DUST so far. Not a whole lot of people know about it. |

This.
It's inevitable.
Therefore, just ignore those who leave. Besides, once they come back after a whole year of being absent and see hundreds of SP accumulated on their main character from the passive SP gains, they might decide to stick around after coming back for a second try. There are Eve players who left their main accounts untouched for months or even years only to come back and see that Eve Online has completely changed and improved like fine wine. |

People need to understand this is a "BETA" not a beta Demo like mostly comes out on the ps3. I welcome the open beta, i wish it could be with a new build, but **** happens. |

Why the MAG comparison? It honestly means nothing here. And MAG is not dead. Have you played it lately? I have. People have been screaming about the death of MAG since 3 months after launch. Many now refer to it as a dead game. MAG just passed its three year anniversary (not including its lengthy beta) and I know many people who still play it nightly if not weekly.
If I see any pattern happening here its that people are gonna say "the end is nigh" and be just as wrong as they were then. |

Sorry but I think a year of Closed Beta was quite enough. We needed fresh blood to test various capabilities of the system and of course to offer additional insight into the game. If a player cannot accept and appreciate that this is a true Beta with the primary goal of providing the development team with information then honestly they do not have patience enough to embrace the concept of this game in the first place.
Sure people will come and go...it is the nature of all games. But I am confident enough players value what Dust 514 brings to the table while at the same time recognizing that in order to truly appreciate all it has to offer, you have to team up with others.
This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what the game will have to offer. We have had dozens from our gaming Community join the Open Beta and most find the game to be very well put together and realize that changes and updates are on the way. |

I may have only been playing a week, but I'd say I disagree with the OP that the open beta is a bad idea. Without this I and several friends wouldn't have even bothered to try the game. I'm loving it so far and that's with just the very limited types of battle. Skirmish is the only one I like but that hasn't stopped me playing in those over and over again.
I've now got the merc pack effectively for 3 English pounds as I am ps plus member and already had a free -ú5 psn voucher from when I bought darksiders 2.
Saving 30k of my Aur for now, but have been using the hacked uplinks and contact grenade things.
Really like the fact that the skills don't turn you into a Demi god within a week. Last night I got my best performance and that was by constantly running back to the stocking point and changing out my kit to suit the situation I was in. anti armour and helped take out a tank that was camping a spawn point and then back to logi to support taking another cannon then frontline to help defend the area. Brilliant fun but mainly because I can see the practice and experience I've been getting are paying off.
Bottom line, I'm going to be sticking around and will keep an eye on how this game develops over time. |

Roughly translated, you don't wanna face veterans, not gonna happen, eventually there is gonna be small pond left and then it will become serious, right now influx of new players that run 0/7 or 2/12 are going to drop like flies when in a month or 2 they see they are even dead broke on ISK and can't pay for suits or still running 0/7 or 2/12 every match.
People get bored and leave it's natural, i got a couple of friends that have an attention span of 2-3 weeks in any given MMO and then they are already bickering about why there isn't any new updates yet or big content patches....
Only the people who truly love the game or are hardcore stick around but seeing this game is single server the population will have to dwindle down to 32 people to see the same people, if its like eve we will have 40-50k people to fight with each day..
That's 80-100 full planet fights each day when that's implemented, shortage of people won't be an issue. |

It gets even better when there are 2 pre-made squads present, at some point your team all it does is spawn a lav drives up to you and 3 guys jump out to spawn kill you, you spawn again into a squad of 6+ people, spawn some more game over man.
Not even good skills get you out of 6 people rushing your position, sure you can take out a few bad's but the guy with the same skill as you gets the fish. |

Even if people DO drop dust, there is already a good loyal community consisting of the majority of closed beta testers. When dust is officially launched (ccp's definition of official launch, not the players) then people who shot this game down because of their inability to be patient will come crawling back with tail between legs.
