Simple really - give each squad member a slightly different tag color, so they're easier to differentiate between at a distance.
At the moment you can tell who your squad is because they're tagged green but you can't quickly and easily tell which squad member is which. If one was tagged cyan, one yellow and another purple for instance you could easily tell where your heavy, AV and logi are individually at a quick glance. |

In Planetside 2, every squad in a platoon has a different colour, and every member of a squad has a corresponding number. So the first member of the first squad (alpha squad) in that game is a green dot with a little 1 inside of it. I find that works really well for seeing who's where. |

I don't think that is necessary. If you are running mics where the squad is can be solved quickly. Also, just as long as the Squad is trying to follow Squad Orders it isn't an issue. What a concept! Oh well.
However, the different color for each squad would be great. Might convince them to fix the one person in a squad bug in the current deployment solution. |

It isn't necessary, but it's a good feature. A good UI isn't necessary, but it makes the game better. Pretty silly to **** on an idea that has no negative to it at all and would only enhance teamwork/coordination. |

i like this idea, as when im trying to put a defend order in a pub match i want to make sure i put it on the good guy not the guy trying to swarm launch a scout in the face.
So this way i can tell people apart from distance quickly |

You said it yourself - IF you are running mics where the squad is. Many people do not have mics (I do but not everyone does) and squads don't always stay close to each other, especially if one member is a sniper or you separate to flank the enemy or something. Being able to easily identify individuals in your squad could only be a good thing.
On the other hand, I see absolutely no need for all squads to be differentiable - what purupose would that serve? |

Personally, I would like to see symbols for my squad other than the chevron. I'm color blind and times I can't tell the difference between the green and blue. So in my eyes everyone in my squad are blueberries.
I adapt though, I try to keep one member in my LOS at all times and coordinate contact reports with them. It would be really nice if I could tell at a glance at the scanner that they are in my squad. |

Oh man, hadn't even thought of that. Yeh that should definitely be the way it's done. |

I think a logo variation, like those for vehicles, could serve this function. E.g; the current arrow = scout, filled arrow = heavy, arrow with a + = logi, etc. |

And if you're all in assault suits? I honestly don't understand the suggestions here for CCP to half-ass this. It's incredibly simple to make the UI easy to read as far as seeing who in your squad, or on your entire team, is where. There's no reason for them to do mediocre stuff like changing icons based on suit type and nothing more than that. |

poor color choice for squad member icon. secondly, i dont need to know what your role is. my primary concern is WHERE you're at. and that's still not as important as being able to get to the objective and get it done. so, this whole little icon per role and more visually absurd colors sounds like a bad idea. i rather keep it simple. squad members in white, rest of the team in blue. easy to tell apart. and that still won't guarantee i'll be able to spot you... also, just wanted to say its a poor tactical decision to place a 'defence' order on a team mate. focus on objectives instead. you might get paid if you do. |

I would make use of this feature. The current method needs to have better contrast, as is the squad doesn't clearly show up from the team on the "bright" maps (running display on an HDTV via HDMI).
Since the current method already needs a tweak taking it a step further to provide greater utility seems like a reasonably request.
