In the Killzone series you had the option after every match to see a record version of the game. I really liked that feature because it helped me understand enemy movements and hence plan out my strategies accordingly. Such a feature would be really nice in Dust.
The way it worked it showed all the actors in the game as dots and you could track their movement from there. |

This post is not about snipers. This post is about observing tactics. I can always record the match but its not the same as an aerial view. And there is no such thing as a safe sniper spot. If a sniper can see you, you can see him too. You are just not looking in the right direction.
PS: I am a sniper myself with a 10.96 KD. Counter snipers dont bother me. I have raised this post as a strategist.
Thanks for your comments. |

Banjo Hero wrote:No, no, no, my fault, sorry to be unclear. The latter part of my post was intended as response to P. CRAY at #2 up there. HE mentioned snipers. My mention of sniping in the first part should probably have had an "e.g." next to "sniped," or something. Might've been due to some sort of mental bleed-over from seeing that first response.
Maybe this is better? >> I do see where you're coming from, but I don't really like the idea, personally. If I get out-flanked, I'll call out the location of the guy as best I can. If the enemy just keeps swarming an objective or controlling an approach, I try to identify their routes and locate their uplinks, and if I do, I call that out. I don't think we really need, or want, an automatic giveaway of where some sniper likes to hang out, or what tactics some team likes to use. <<
I'm very happy for you and your K/D. I'm sure I've contributed to it in the past, and/or will do in the future. :-D
Good hunting!
Ok got it. Thank you for your feedback. +1 for not being a sensitive troll like the rest of the forum lol |

A different mode where you can have the killcams turned off would be great for all the campers to play on if they think that the killcams are too "unfair". Killcams really have no place in this game tbh.
This +1. Killcams can remain in COD and I wont be too sad about it. COD is more individual driven rather than team driven. Dust is VERY team driven. I dont really care if someone kills me as long as I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. |

The way it worked it showed all the actors in the game as dots and you could track their movement from there. I don't mind this but I don't think all the red dots should be revealed if that's what you mean. It should just be a recorded feed of what all your players saw during the match.
I see your point and understand. For example if you are saying you use profile dampners and stay out of radar detection you should not appear in the feed. Which makes total sense. Why invest in profile dampners if an aerial view is gonna tell it all?
Welp. Looks like this whole match replay idea may end up being a double edged sword.
I would like to however see what the community thinks about it. |

Nope. Just youtube any of Killzone 2 after match videos. That will give you an idea of what I am looking at.
I am not looking for what I see. I can always record that and play it back later. This is a match oveview. |
