Step One - Buy Militia Heavy Suits
Step Two - Buy Militia Forge Guns
Step Three - Use said combination against Armor & Air
Bonus Tip - YOU CAN CHANGE SUITS AT SUPPLY DEPOTS
Seriously. It's not brain surgery. This is the only FPS I have ever played where the players are so bloody thick that they can't figure out how Anti-Armor works. I have lost count of how many games I have busted my ass in, only to have it overturned because someone brought a tank or dropship and my teammates are too ******** to know how to counter it
It's one of the most mind-numbingly frustrating things, and it boils down to lack of player insight and knowledge. FIX IT. Yes you!
It doesn't take one person. It takes several people to do it effectively.
On a related note: Since there are a fuckload of people who don't have mics, it would be really bloody helpful if the chatbar would stay up during a game. That way, if someone issues a command or bit of information via text, it's less likely to go unnoticed. |

Well I just started about two days ago? I'd be up for advice because a tank killed me a while ago. I'll use this for future reference, so thank you for this. |

Keep in mind that a Militia Forge Gun won't do a lot to the more powerful tanks. If you want to take those out, the only option is speccing into AV weaponry. |

Welcome to the game.
Look at getting into a corp, some or good, some are bad. Just find the right fit for you. Most will give you a helping hand if you ask even if you aren't in the same corp. |

I blow them up with my tank when I can =]
edit: this is an important point. If you have a ds/hav on your side, don't cap the supply depots. Let them die. Your vehicles are much less effective without them, or they can risk moving up while they are still around and losing a 900k+ vehicle. |

Without a more comprehensive and upfront/easy to access tutorial on tank-use/anti-tank warfare, dont expect new players to know WTF theyre doing...
Other than lucking out and joining a good Corp, chances are you wont find too many helpful (mic-owning) folks who will take the time to teach them.. |

I'm not above committing suicide to respawn in my AV gear, or rushing red dots to take one out before I go down quickly. If your vehicle is swinging the match I will die for the chance to return the favor. |

Quick break down of damage types, very useful for taking out HAVs (aka Tanks)
Forge and Flux Nades do higher dps to Shields (those bloody fast tanks) Swarms and AV Nades do more to Armor (those slow blaster tanks)
Since all tanks have both using combined fire of various types is optimal but when in doubt just hammer that HAV and watch it burn. Cover helps, having at least two people helps a lot and splitting your angles of fire is always a good idea (it can't target two directions at once).
Also if you're desperate (i.e. armor hits the field and you've not fit to swap into) a Laser or Mass Driver will do some damage to vehicles (but that's the "it's on fire finish it" sort of use rather than true AV).

Players are blaming players as noobs when they are playing a BETA release. C'mon! Heck, how we are going to fight tanks might change completely.
But I do agree that the devs should implement a proper tutorial etc. already for this beta. Just so that people know how to do things. I always have a anti-tank fit ready when some heavy stuff comes rolling down. I wouldn't worry too much about what heavy weapons you have (forge, swarm, flux, AV etc). Somone will bring something else and many will die even before they get to shoot anything. As long as you get SOMETHING heavy into the mix.
I usually also keep AV-nades in my assaut fit. There is ALWAYS something rolling in the midst of battle.
Now we only need to teach people to use EQUIPMENT. I usually drop a nanohive if I see a anti-tank-fitter that has been situated well and IS DOING damage. Why not help him out with a nice little nanohive to keep him shooting!

Flux grenade to drop the shields, then nail with whatever shoots. As the non-newb, carry a loadout to help them realize a milita-focus nade won't do anything, they don't know. So drop the shields so the prolific militia AR fire at least does something. |

Would be greatful if someone could do a " Mercenary for dummies 101" for me and several noobs that are first timmers on FPS games.
I'd like to see what are the basic items for specific suits and its benefits.
That would be good step.
Then after when im competant about that, some knowledge on gameplay as i dont know what the hecks going on around me most of the time.
Cheers. |
