Even the highest tier repairers only do 5hp/s (I think) I feel a little more like investing in stamina recovery modules but I also don't want to be stuck out in the field with 1 armor about to get shot at. |

Are you running a Heavy?
Heavy on their own, armor repair saves Suits. I normally wear them and recommend them if your average squad mate is a New Berry.
Are you running in a Squad with a Logi Bro?
In a Squad the Logi Bro enables a different low power module. Which can be an advantage.
Past that let your survival rate dictate your choice. A fast Scout Suit with Profile and Stamina can be a better choice. |

I play a heavy and use repair system. If your a patient player and don't mind keeping your head down while you wait for back up and for your Armour to repair itself then yes use them, saves lives and helps you get that high K/D. If your not patient then invest in speed improving modules so if you need to fall back you can make a hasty retreat and look for a medic |

I'm a logi and I always do a armor rep mod, because I just figure I'm out there repping others, I shouldn't be worried about finding another logi to rep me. I'm all for armor rep mods for logis |

This. I'm trying to get as much armor plating as I can, while passively repairing it as fast as I can. My job is to stay alive to keep others alive. I'll kill when I need to, but that's not my primary directive. |

I'm new and have to lone wolf a lot. I use an armor repair in most of my fits because of that.
If you play a map with supply depot available, swapping suits heals all damage. Swap out and back quickly and you are good to go. No depots or squad with logi? Consider having an armor repair fit. If you rush red dots with your hair on fire as a preferred play style, fit plates. |

:) lol, its never bad to equip an armor repper even if it only does 2 HP/S because when your shields get low, you should be ducking to the sides already and armor should only take a minimum amount of damage, do that a few times and you are going to die eventually when it runs out, with the repper you can stay in the field all the time.

Most heavies Ive seen use an exploit where they run up a supply depot, change suits and then go back to heavy suit and they have full shields and armor again. Can this be nerfed in some way to only changing suit once every couple of mins instead? |

I typically rely on armor defense on my logi suits. I use one repper plus a plate or two. You could build your suit around shield tank just as easy or dual tank for maximum survivability. Typically, a dual tank setup is frowned upon in EVE but I think it works well enough for DUST. I only shield tank my Type-II setup to keep up mobility.
A Type-A logi with complex damage mods, EXO-5 mass driver and a heavy armor tank is a beast though. I used that at the end of the closed beta and could shred the enemy while keeping my squad alive.

good for heavies and logi, bad for assault and scout. Waste of a slot that should go to movement or stamina IMHO.
as was stated heavy with a dedicated LogiBro squadmate can add plates, otherwise rep yourself some to stay alive. |

Fo heavies who can take a beating yeah, I play heavy and use Armour repair systems and with patience I get like 20/1.
But for other classes I myself would pick other modules since I don't feel they have the armour to justify using them. |

The only suit I don't put an armor rep on is the scout, because I'm too busy speed tanking it. |

Put 2 complex rep mods ( 10 HP/sec ) on a type a heavy and come back to me, protip: spec out field mechanics to lev5 to be 812 armor. Enjoy godmode |

it isn't as low as it sounds. I run an armor logi and the repairer seems to keep my armor up pretty well. |
