Mmm don't know really yet.
Corp can take sovereignty over the planet, as well as systems I hear, which becomes lucrative.
Perhaps all system sales tax and custom office tax will go to the dust bunnies.
Con, you have to defend it, not so much a con unless when you take system and planet sovereignty you have to as a Corp pay sovereignty registration isk as well as having sovereignty hubs that you must install and purchase for each planet and system.
Therefore if defense you lose alot of isk in the destruction of your home.
Just depends, who knows for sure yet, well the devs. |

they might make it so you have to own the planet to do PI on it, maybe your corp can rent space to eve players to do PI. who knows. |

I'm guessing that any new EVE/DUST link features are going to be revealed at FanFest, and probably not a moment sooner.
However, I can tell you that DUST would be ridiculous if it didn't affect PI, and planetary control would be critical to taking over a system IRL (if we ever became a multi-faction, interstellar species) - so DUST will almost certainly affect those areas. |

Just to make this clear b4 i start . People need to be aware that DUST514 is part of eve online . Its is at the moment a stand alone game . There is a lot CCP have to do so they can fully integrate dust into the EVE online universe .
Basically we will be attacking colonies . An eve player would put up a contract for us to tale a colony in the mineral rich area . Or even put up multiple contracts for multiple colonies . By winning we get a payout and the player controls of a colony on the planet . Dust player will not control planets . We will be fighting on behalf of a EVE Player , corp or Alliance .
. We are basically guns for hire once the game is fully integrated . Fortunately Dust brings a new element to EVE ONLINE itself . Planetary interactin used to be 1st come 1st serve . That is people who had structures on mineral rich deposits owned them . They couldnt be destroyed unless the player themselves took down the structures , no one else could claim the mineral rich areas . Dust will be putting an end to that . Winning means giving control of that colony to the EVE player who hired us .
That said i dont know all the details of what happens in eve online . I am not sure if those structures ar lost as a result of the battle . Or . its possible that the winning side takes control of the structures . I wont know the details until CCP get closer to the finished dust client .
Pros of owning a planet or mineral rich area on a planet in eve
1 . Better mineral resources for longer mineral mining times .
2 . Some of the parts made from planetary interaction are needed for fueling player owned structures .
3 . Other materials created are used for ship building . Not sure about items for dust yet . I havent looked into it .
Cons .
1 . Can increase market values of items created . This all depends on what impact Dust itself will have .
2 . It can cause problems for players already owning planets . They would be unable to make fuel if they loose their ownership of resources .
3 , It all depends on EVE players . Basically Dust could have a positive or negative impact on the EVE players . THis could also effect the market prices for items in dust .
At the end of the day you wont see what you have accomplished from your fights on a planetary scale . You wont see what the planet looks like or how they work in eve . That is unless you also play eve . If i get time i will look online and see if i can get some pictures posted here to show you what happens from the perspective of an eve player .
TO make is simple in the best terms i can . Basically , i wont know what pros or cons will be for us dust players until the game is fully integrated with eve . |

Im assuming its tied to Dust weapon and vehicle production somehow.
Also, ground based facilities that affect the solar system they are in.
Perhaps new crafting materials used for new eve ships or modules.

They deliever a ton at fanfest every year. New models and gameplay footage are shown all the time. Some years better than others true. But last year was great, dust tourney, tons of new eve footage and models. But this year with dust out I'm even more excited! twice to updates! twice the news! |
