So HAV's as they exist can do one of 2 things, they sit in the hills with a rail or they drive as fast as they can with a blaster, rail... or large missile. HAV's stop, for more then a few seconds infantry will end a 3mil investment fairly quickly if they work together and with out remorse. (I have seen a 10k Surya downed in 6 seconds by 2 Assault forge gunners.) There are only 3 real protections for a tank Speed, Range or Cover. The EHP of tanks simply serves as a buffer to determine how fast something will die if the tank is caught outside the aforementioned protections.
Perhaps we can get some kind of Hardening or siege mode, so tanks can actually hold lines or objective as a turret at the expense of mobility.
Example of how this might work;
- Team Leader needs Null cannon Delta protected. -- 9.5k EHP (4 standard forge rounds) Madruger enters area and siege mode. ---- Takes 10 seconds to harden, Mobility is lost for the full duration of warm up without the advantage. Resistance is doubled tank now has a ~17.25k EHP (about standard 7 forge rounds.) Tracking speed gets a boost. The turret can train vertically a bonus +25 and -10 degrees. Maybe even a little bonus range, or local rep. ------- Tank has to maintain the mode for 45 seconds, but can keep it active as long as need be. ----------- After holding the objective for 4 minutes a pair of forge gunner is using cover the tank has no vantage against. The siege mode is canceled. Hardening ends tracking bonuses are lost it takes 3 seconds to exit the mode and another 2 to get out from their field of fire. Can the tank get away? Wouldn't it be neat to find out?
I will say now that this mode should not be available behind the red line to avoid abuse. |

I've never had these many problems with my Sica. I mean, yeah, a pair of assault forge guns would put me down pretty quick, but that's pretty rare. Hell, non-militia swarms are pretty rare. I can sit still some times, depending on what I'm up against. |

Hmm the resistance 50% resistance isn't high enough and the damage bonus is rarely needed unless your in are fighting another tank. I'm not happy with the prospect. Thanks for the link though i read the original but missed this follow up. |

I think tanks are fine, but the siege mod could add new flavor, though personally I will prefer mobility over any sort of super defense bonus. If you have mobility, use it, and don't get wasted. |
