So I was playing with an HMG setup on a skirmish match when I noticed that an enemy sniper was traveling up a mountain that was behind our objectives. I did what any logical person would do, and followed him up. when he had set up his sniper nest (he had a CRU and a nanohive; he was playing a logi suit), I walked to his back and considered my options. I could mow him down with my HMG, melee him to death, or pump him full of SMG rounds.
Instead, I walked in front of him (I wonder what he saw as I passed by his scope). Then we sat on the mountain together for a about a minute. And then an ******* from my team came up and killed the sniper. When that happened I detonated a grenade on myself. And didn't die, because I was heavy. So I detonated a SECOND grenade.
So ends this tale of hopeless bromance. |

I had to perform a mini necro on this thread cuz your story inspired me.
So I track down a red berry (edited, formerly I misprinted blueberry) sniper holing up in his nest. I did the same exact thing....walked right in front of him with my hmg coming to bear. I didn't fire, just waited for the "oh $#!!" Reaction. He quickly stood up and backed away and just stood there for a few seconds, probably wondering what I was smoking since I had not reduced him into a pile of sniper goo yet.
To extend a hand of friendship I jumped around like a goofball for a bit and even kneeled and stood a few times. After about a minute or so of this he then walked around me and went back to his nest to snipe again....
Well, that's just plain rude. So I sent a "friendly" round at him to remind him to play nice or be killed. He stood back up and, together, we watched the final minute of the match run out.
Btw, rather than bromance, I call that a dust version of crowd control (my team won that Match easily so didn't miss me at end). |

Awesome!
Careful though... I can imagine an eventual conclusion to this where both teams rush to the middle, a heavy sits down next to a sniper, a shotty sits down next to him, a buffed assaulty sits down next to him and so on until there is a lovely big ring of red - blue - red - blue dots all sat in a big circle singing camp songs and watching a burning LAV |

I tried this the other day, and it didn't go as well as with you.
As soon as the sniper spotted me running up the hill towards his spot at the tower, he instantly started shooting me(poorly of course). So, I started doing a zig-zag to avoid his shots, while still stubbornly running up to him, dodging each of his rounds. When I eventually reached up to him, he was simply staring at me, trying to pull out his scrambler pistol. At this point, I did the only logical thing left, give him a nice, big and friendly hug. After that we settled our differences, walked to the sunset and lived happily ever after.*
The End.
*What I mean is I melted his face with a plasma shotgun shell, and laughed as his headless corpse collapsed to the ground, then proceeded teabagging until his body disintegrated. |
