Hello,
Flight in DUST is not a walk in the park, I suggest a practice map or Tutorial, in which you can fly through an obstacle course and do simple tasks such a safely landing, hovering, and using active modules. |

VR training systems have been suggested numerous times - and dropships have been included in a large portion of them. I still support it, but remind you that there may still be an active thread about this, which would render this thread a duplicate. |

This.
I crashed my 155000 ISK dropship (a significant investment for a new player like me) around 2 seconds after I took off because I didn't know the controls and I collided into a rock.
I need flight training.
EDIT: Also, the collision damage with terrain in Dust is over-the-top insane. |

the collision damage used to be almost 0 and trust me it was worse like that, dropships would just fly around trying to run people over. |

I had posted a thread about this last week, seems to have been buried by inactivity and/or people whining about other stuff.

Play a regular match and stay near your base and learn to fly. Its that simple and you have minimal risk. making a flight sim for game is not simple. |

As a Dropship pilot since at least late November 2012, I find it weird that I want to disagree with this.
In my opinion, all the ISK that you spent to persevere in the career is what separates the pilots from the average mercs. Those who are dissuaded by the cost to learn gave up, while those who wanted to truly be pilots continued to spend the ISK and continue on flying.
A person who didn't spend ISK to use gear to learn with shouldn't have the same skill (not SP)in the use of something as a person who did sacrifice the ISK.
That's just my view. Not the view of any organization as a whole. |

I'll be very honest, it makes sense. |

I went through this. Have only really been playing for a week or two, and rushed getting the dropship. Flew it for about 30 seconds, got hit by a blaster, panicked, ans boom. Although I was a little ticked that I just lost over 300k isk in 30 seconds, I still feel that it is the risk vs reward that matters. If you want to be a good pilot, you are going to have to pay for a lot of crashed dropships. Think of it as your "college" payment. |

Use a viper to learn to fly, it is under the militia tab. I also recommend flying in the safe zone. Fly anywhere else at your own risk. |

Awww. I was hoping this was a request for more realistic flying.. when you'd require a keyboard so you have just barely enough key combinations to maintain flight... This game would be golden with that. |
